Well, since we got ran out by rain this super-slow hotel internet finally got the video uploaded and I figured I'd share. I usually try to clean things up with editing and add titles etc, but hey it is done on the road so imperfections can be expected.

http://www.lonestarmopars.com/news/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=59:moparty-at-the-strip-drive-thru-car-show&catid=1:latest-news

Here is a drive-thru of the MATS showfield...Once we are back in Texas and I'm at the desktop I'll have a similar video done in HD via GoPro. We came back from the pits and as the first rain fell folks began to rush around and we just kind of happened to try our luck driving thru the aisles for a nice video...no one complained so we made the entire show field. A few folks realized what we were doing and told us to get the video up asap.

This isn't my best work, but if you couldn't make it you'll have an idea what things were like this year, and if you have never been you'll have some idea of how it is set up...enjoy

I am trying to upload a few of the Charger pics, but the connection is super slow...we got back early due to the rain and this short video posted above took several hours.  I think this will give everyone an idea of how things are set up...definitely not comprehensive, but the majority of the show field got scanned.  I'll have a lot more to get posted, just need a better connection!

We had a great time! Met lots of forum members. Hung out a while at Vegas Mike's. Very gracious of you Mike, Thanks! The concerts at the Cannery were good both nights. Drag racing, car show, fighter jets, just a good time. It was windy and cold Friday and Saturday. I have some pics my wife took. Might as well post them up here rather than open another thread.

It was windy and cold for Vegas Friday and Saturday. Had snow on the mountains to the north. Got a pic of that at the end for those who dont see snow much. She was trying to catch a pic with "wheels up". She got it one time.

Nice shots Paul...they really don't do your Charger justice!

We got in at 1 AM CST this morning because we detoured the wrecks on I40 and potential snow in Flagstaff...On the bright side we made it thru Phoenix, saw some new scenery, and didn't have to deal with snow.  I am so tired I nearly fell asleep while I was in the dentist for a cleaning this morning, lol.  Wrapping up lunch at work right now, but the Chargers will naturally be the first pics I upload...I'll get them up asap.  It was a great time despite the weather and a few other issues and it was great meeting some folks from the board!

I'll try to start the GoPro drive thru while the work day progresses...same shots, but you don't have to deal with me turning from side to side.

Here is a link to the article with the GoPro vid...

http://www.lonestarmopars.com/news/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=60:mats-show-field-drive-thru-in-gopro-hd

Please not, somehow the GoPro came out dark...that said you catch enough light to see the cars on both sides thanks to the wide angle...anything I missed in the hand held vid you can catch here.

The good news is we shot a lot of the cars with the GoPro Friday and Saturday when the cloud cover was not as bad...I will start working on that after I get the Charger pics wrapped up.

Fear not, I am working on the Charger pics...I just have SO MANY it is taking a long time, lol.  I'll get it up asap though.  The videos are actually a little quicker to compile on break and lunch etc.

Well, I've basically killed my home computer, been chasing server issues on AAM, and work has been swamped.

I finally got a quick few pics cranked out...Rest easy knowing I have an album of about 400 pics dedicated to 68-70s  :icon_smile_big:

Hoping to get 2-3 articles out each night.  It is hard to get great shots with the parking and I always hesitate to put up rear shots that show LP#s.

If I wind up havings pics of your car and you want a full feature on it just let me know.  I'm single and don't sleep a whole lot, lol...do it all for the love of the cars.  Worst part about big shows is never being able to catch the owners.

Anyway, First Gen folks rejoice...someone put you first:

Guys and gals, how do you prefer the massive onslaught of 2nd Gens to come your way?  I have so many pictures I didn't know if I should have them all in article format or if it would be better to just throw a slide show together.  Part of me hates slide shows for the simple fact YouTube always overrides my music selection  :icon_smile_angry:

Anyway, I am making strides on piecing one together, then I will try and make the article so you can view the pics in higher resolution and save them etc.  If you see your car and want more info released let me know, I'd be glad to do so  ;D

But, for the time being here is some stuff to tide you over.  Both articles have videos embedded.  If you see something you like chances are I have pictures to go along with it.

Ron, just missed getting to meet you.  Spoke to Gunmetal and he said you had just headed for the track...maybe next time.

I usually don't have any luck with the YouTube editor working...it was today so I took advantage.  All of the following links have HD vids to accompany them.

If you note on this last one I have a link to the LSM Forum:
http://www.lonestarmopars.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=127

I am wanting to get input on which car YOU would have considered the World's Ultimate Mopar.  I totally understand not signing up on LSM, but feel free to reply here...I'll tabulate it all the same (eventually).  I checked and the MATS site doesn't list 2011 Winners yet, I think it will be interesting to compare.  I'm counting on a lot of Charger heavy sentiments here  :yesnod:

I've got more progress made on the 2nd Gens...there are just a TON of pics, lol.

Good Friday indeed...

I am just waiting on the slide show to upload...that was really the best way to get the pics rolling...you can see them in video form and if you want more of a particular car I can throw it in an article or post here...

I'll also throw this post up in the Charger Discussion forum so more folks will see it...It is 10+ minutes of nothing but 68-70s  :drool5:

At long last the slideshow is complete...I can add music, but invaribly it never suits everyone and you can just stream the track of your choice in the background, lol.

If you spot your Charger and want to share more info just let me know...I will gladly do a full feature on the Lone Star Mopars News page.

Thanks tan top...We're having a HEMI Day/4 Year Anniversary GTG for AAM Saturday afternoon...I've got that, need to cut the grass, and then change the oil on the Mopar 10 for a $100 Mopar street car shootout next Friday.  If I can get that wrapped up I will try to post a ton more stuff  :yesnod:

I have our 2 part video of cruising the Strip complete, just wanting to get the daily installments wrapped up.

We've been pretty busy at work and I'm trying to get the trip archived before moving on to a few surprises and then 3rd Gens and the rest of the show field.

If anyone cares, or wonders what the drive is like here is an archive of Amarillo to Kingman, our Day 1 of the Road Trip, still need to proof read it and edit a few of the pics, but this gives you the overall scope of things, it was a great time. Only thing that could make it better was to be with more Mopars!

We have a Mopar Street Car Shootout tonight at the track I think I'm going to miss and then cruise night tomorrow.  If I get any downtime I'll get to work on the next couple of installments.

If you just drove straight thru, Amarillo to Kingman would be pretty easy and quick in all honesty.  I would really like to get more folks from our area and east to make the drive.  That is honestly all that could have made it better, more Mopars to cruise with.
