69 R/T 4spd on ebay..

Hey all.

I just thought I would post up here so that anyone who saw the ebay listing and was thinking about buying the car would have full knowledge. It was for sale late last month on both RacingJunk and Moparts with the following ad which stated that there were issues with getting at its Texas title. It is now for sale for 2x the price with no information about the title what so ever.

This is an All Matching #'s 440 Big Block R/T, 18 Spline Hemi 4-Speed,
Dana 60, Trac Pack (Code A33), FenderTag, Bucket Seats, Project Car
Not Currently Running. Overall Very Straight & Solid with usual rust
in lower quarters & trunk pans

POSITIVES- This is a Very HIGH END Matching #'s Charger R/T and a
GREAT Builder!! You wont find another one, ESPECIALLY at this price!!!

NEGATIVES- NO Title. A local Texas Bank has the title and wont be
releasing it. So this car is being sold outside the state of texas
with no title. This is really no big deal if you live outside of
texas, not selling to anyone living in texas. This is my Dad's car and
he has turned down $20,000 SEVERAL times when he had access to title.
Now someone is going to get one heck of a deal for $9,500. You can

I really like the following from the ebay ad considering the car just came from Texas.

This car has most of its original paint, although it is faded from the Arkansas sun.

Though I suppose the previous owner (from TX) could have just moved to TX from Arkansas before selling it, though I doubt it.

I would run away from that.

I can say with personal experience that banks don't do what they do just to be dicks - the only reason the bank won't release the title is that they own it, or they own something secured by it.  And I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be happy with their debtor selling it out from under them.  Whoever is foolhardy enough to buy it won't have it for long.

   been looking at this car for at least 2 years  on Texas Toybox web site , guess they sold it  wondered why it was not sold sooner as it was matching numbers & a 4 speed ,

Agreed.  If a bank is hold the title and won't release it then they've probably got a good reason.

Someone might have applied for a lost title, or used a bill of sale, or slight of hand parlor tricks. Just my  .
