Very rare color car .  Owner need our help finding parts

carl is looking for some NOS parts to put goldie back the way she was .

I am pursuing any led I can.  Looks like we need the NOSE ,head light buckets, z supports, the pan underneath connecting the two finders, the spoiler, and the top tray.  In short just about everything forward of the radiator has been bent, twisted or smashed.  Oh, also the drivers side finder.  The hood has a slight bend in one corner, but seems to be fixable.  Am trying to go with NOS if I can, but will go to repro if not available.  Carl

If you haven't priced NOS parts for a Daytona recently, nevermind find any, your in for a shock, a nose and valance alone is $30K all day, headlight doors are $1K-$1500 a pair, Z bars can range from $$3K-$5K a pair, grille frames $600-$1K,...the rest, just keep adding $$$$$$$$,.....repro is your only choice if you want to fix the car on somewhat of a budget, and decent time frame, Insurance or not, they will only cover for reasonable priced parts or repairs,...a wish list of virgin NOS parts, is just that

It might seem impossible, but I am betting that some of the damaged parts can be repaired. Wasn't there one supplier, or a body guy who was able to repair a really bad nose cone? I remember someone posted before & after pics of a cone that was in really bad shape.

Was it Jack McGaughey Enterprises, Inc.?  :shruggy:

Very unfortunate.  :rotz:

Nowadays, however, ANYTHING can be repaired (ok maybe rust can't be).  When you look at the cost of NOS, used original or even reproduction parts, think about how much expertise that money would buy.  There are some absolute wizards out there when it comes to sheetmetal.  Someone may be able to save most of what you have.

If the parts on your car are assembly line original, they are worth trying to save.

Hope all turns out well.

I second this, especially the Z brackets, lower valance, etc.  Worst case, you'll need the side of the nose or the top, but I'd fix what's there.  Send it to Jack at wingcarfab.

Sucks to see that happen, and I'm another who will tell you Carl's a cool owner!

OUCH!
That sux.
I hope the insurance treats him well. This will be interesting to follow the process and repair.

That's a bummer. Thank God it wasn't a worse accident or a total :-\

Magnumcharger

I'm sorry this happened but not really surprised. It was only a matter of time before some idiot with a cell phone, choking down a Big Mac, dropping hot coffee onto their lap, would run into this car.

Try as you might to avoid, and I'm certain you'll try, but if you take out your pride and joy in the "real world", it's only a matter of time before this happens.

Case in point:
Brock Samson's 1969 Charger getting the front plowed off of it.
A certain Nascar-themed Hemi Daytona that got t-boned by a dude on a motorcycle.
A familiar Orange Superbird with it's ass plowed up a foot or two.

Realistically, this was going to happen eventually. I am surprised that he hasn't stockpiled parts - just for this day of inevitability.
