Hi guys we are searching for a torque converter and we need to know if our 727 in our 69 has a 19 spline shaft or 24. If any other information is required just let us know. Also since im asking this question is there any converter out there with the stall range from 2500 to 2800 rpm. or if anyone would be kind enough to recomend a torque converter here are the specs

1969 charger
3800 lbs plus driver
323 gear
295/50/15's so 28" diameter ans 11.2 Width
440 to zero decked 446 with 9.55 to 1 comp ratio
906 gasket matched and slightly ported heads with larger valves and 3 angle valve job
tti headers
stock intake and carb(rebuilt and intake is gasket matched as well)
Comp cam w/ .525 lift and 247 dur at .5 lift, 110
stock rebuilt 727 with stock 245 first gear

Any help is much appreciated. Thank you         Ken

The earlier trannys were 19 spline, yours should be a 24 spline if it's a 69 transmission. The 247@.050 cam is pretty big....it'll want more than 2800 stall, inmo. The 3.23 gears won't help either....it needs more gear. If i were using that cam, the converter choice would be 3500 along with a set of 3.91 gears. The 295/50's are 26.5 in tall...fyi.

'66 was the last year for the 19-spline input shaft, all '67 and later non-lockup transmissions will have the 24-spline input.

I think you have too much cam for the other components.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
