I don't think that the buyers got soaked...   I think that price was fairly average for a driver non RT... um.. well a couple years back at least.     It's not like it was a concours resto or anything but there's a lot more work that went into it than what is shown...   I would be kinda afraid to take that thing anyplace until I had somebody check it over.

I just think this entire series is kinda contrived.     They just "happened" to find door panels and a broken console in the trunk of another clunker.    And then he shows up with seats in the back of the truck 2 minutes later.    The fake deadlines and all...  it just annoys me.

The orange 69 GTO episode was just as bad...  found a judge wing and the endura bumper in the private lot the old man forgot he had.... jeez.

Watching crap like this should make people appreciate what Dan does on CCR.
Black Betty:  1969 Charger R/T - X9 440 six pack, TKO600 5 speed, 3.73 Dana 60.
Sinnamon:  1969 Charger R/T - T5 440, 727, 3.23 8 3/4 high school sweetheart.

Just witnessed the horror last night.  :rotz:  I enjoy shows like "Muscle Car" where they show techniques. The drama. Honestly, its a friggin' soap opera.

cars bought cheap, built cheap and sold fairly cheap.

You nailed it. That's why it's an insulting program.

Might as well make a show called Uzbekistan Auto Kings and have the Uzbekistani Mafia rebuild a 1957 Trabant (the famous POS, more of them sold than Chargers) and then sell their safety hazard ripoff to the unsuspecting teenager.

I won't spend any more of my time left on this planet on that cheap show. :Twocents:

I laughed when they went the dealership and compared the car with the 2011 version! ::)

I guess when Dodge sponsors the show things like this are expected to happen.

16K

4K more could have bought Troy's 68 RT.

Less than that...

Haven't seen this one yet - I just caught the Chevelle and GTO shows yesterday and I don't think I can stand to watch another.

hood latch Mech. is somewhat different - so the two hoods wont simply swap from yr. to year...  :shruggy:   :yesnod:

Lennard

So it's not the hood that is different, it's the latch mechanism.... thanks for explaining.

ACUDANUT

You know it was kind of a fluke that this one guy had everything he needed in a trunk of a P.O.S.
Also, they never mentioned where the seats and taillights were found...Or did they ???

The diff is actually in the the hood. Its in the area of the hood where the hood adj. bumpers hit the hood. They moved slightly in 69.

68, 69 are interchangeable

You can get away with using one on the other ,but they are not the same.
