So I am replacing my driver side header gasket as we speak and need some help.  I have TTI headers on a 440 and so far I have removed the spark plugs, drained some coolant and removed the header bolts.  I am trying to get as much open space between the engine and headers so I can clean up the surface as much as possible.  Problem is I still don't have much room.  What else needs to be done?

Do I need to remove the rear harness holding the header/muffler up or can it stay in place.  Any advice welcome.

I would get a thin scraper with a long blade & just do it the way it is. Are the gaskets stuck to the head I take, most times they just peel off.
