I was on ebay looks for part and I came across this.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350101901073&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT
I email the guy to ask if the prise was right , he ask should it be higher?

Ghoste

It's Frank Mitchell, stupidly high prices are one of his trademarks.  He has an option there for offers so come back from the other direction and offer him 50 bucks for it.

Just 6T9 CHGR

Sadly there is someone out there that WILL buy it for that price :rotz:

It's possible looking at his feedback!

Ghoste

Positive feedback is left by people who have never met Frank in person. :D

I'm talking more about the fact that people have paid the insane prices. The $500 '63 Dart tail light lenses are a good example.

That guy is crazy,I sent him a message asking if he was on drugs. And to think someone would pay that without knowing any better.

They find him from threads like this actually.  :Twocents:

He lists an item with an exremely high price.  :o

Someone sees it & posts a whacko / nut job / insane seller thread on a web forum.  :yesnod:

His plan worked, free advertising.   :scratchchin:

Will he do it again?

Will someone post about it somewhere again?

Yes & yes, so as long as his system works for him, he will keep doing it. Others do it too, for the same reason.  :shruggy:

Ghoste

He's been doing it since well before the internet.

G-man

Frank Mitchell...

I think I paid him 800US for 2 NOS mirrors for the charger.

However, other people were selling theirs for about the same (maybe 50-100 cheaper) but would not provide any photos so I just went with his.

He also had a NOS Grill for a 68 charger at $900 which I thought was pretty good for NOS. But $1000 for Upper control arm? LOL!

Must have known I was in the market!  That's nuts.

Ahhh yes, Frank Mitchel Mopar.  For a long time he was the only person that seemed to have an original headlight switch for my car (well, ANY headlight switch actually).

I was debating about buying from him, when a guy I work with filled me in on how over-inflated his prices are.  He seems to like being a monopoly.  My co-worker said Frank will bid up other e-bay items that are competing with his and either bid them so high that his costs less, or jsut buy them outright and then resell them at his price.

I waited, and got a slightly used switch for less than 1/4 of what he was asking.

Sometimes it pays to do a little research before bidding/buying online.

Sounds to me like the Free Market is working well for this guy...

Wish I had that kind of business acumen, I'd have a nicer car.

Now watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical,
      a liberal, oh fanatical, criminal.
Won't you sign up your name, we'd like to feel you're
acceptable, respectable, oh presentable, a vegetable!

From what I understand Frank Badalson/Roger Gibson are selling exact reproductions, complete with bushings, for a fraction of that price.
And, I don't think assembly line pieces would have a part number stamped in yellow like that.

I know there was someone on ebay sell them with bushings and ball joints for a 100.00 a pair. I would like to find this guy again.I screwed one of mine up when I was trying to get the old bushings out. They just replyed to an email today

My message:
So you want a $1000.00 for a pair of control arms? If so your on drugs, thanks but no thanks.

there reply:
good ones, too.

Thanks, Mike or Frank
Ya gotta wondering sometimes. :shruggy:
