It is the Dodge Charger Registry started by Wayne Wooten 20 years ago. It is open for all years of Chargers.

He organizes annual meets all over the country. I joined several years ago and plan on attending the 20 year anniversary out in Jefferson City this year.

This may not be one of the original 17 but the tv clip from the 80's is worth a look. This car is here in New Zealand along with one of the stunt cars from the tv series

looks like this is one also.........any idea who bought this one?

This is a "fake" General Lee. What I mean is that this is not a "real" General from the TV series. This car was a promotional car build by "General Lee Ent."

The General in the pics provided by the link are not genuie. However.. there is a "real" General in Aussi, owned by K.C. also member of this board.

There are a couple guys in PA that have one.  One of them in PA is the Ski Car in the show, and a couple others that I know lives in Texas, and Ohio.

Ondeed Kraig stops by every once in a while. He has atleast one real GL (He had or has another one of those survivors as well).

My mechanic told me, "I couldn't fix your brakes, but don't worry I made your horn louder."

There is one in the Dallas, Texas area (owner originally bought two, but I believe he sold one) and another in San Antonio, Texas...

Also.. back in the past, I did some research, there is a "real" General Lee in England. On an other note. The 2015 Taxi Cab from the Back to the Future trilogy is located about 100 miles from my house  :icon_smile_approve:

There are actually more than 17, 21 or 22?  I forget.  Check on www.cglfc.com too.  Wasn't one of them on Ebay not too long ago?  And I don't mean Lee1.

In the past 5 years I have seen 5 of the 17 cars in attending the  TDC meets and they are remarkable.  They are largely unrestored to keep them authentic and only get care to prolong their exsistance. They all are documented by various means. I encourage anyone with a Charger to join the TDC and come to Jeff. City for the biggest Charger gathering ever! John

while  everyone is on the subject of surviving general lee's what all other cars survived the show and are out there?? ??? ??? ???

Wakko

There are no Daisy Roadrunners out there, not sure about the rest.  I know of at least the one Jesse truck, I don't think there are any Boss Hogg Cadillacs.  No idea on the Cooter trucks or Jeeps.

wonder if there is anything out there that people don't know about? maybe stashed away in a garage. maybe couple roscoe cars??

Wakko

Anything's possible.  Unlikely though.  While Police 1 and 2 are alive and well the Fury cop cars that were left over were used in Hunter episodes and other projects.  Have you read about Lee1?  Neat seeing the history of the car.

hey Waako. yeah i saw that story and when it was sold on e-bay. wow!!! did that go for a ton of money!!!! so there are only the two surviving police cars from the series? what happenend to them?

Wakko

They were on Ebay as well a while back but didn't sell.  I don't know much about them, if you're really curious go to www.cglfc.com and check it out.  Guy on there named wLc knows pretty much everything about everything Dukes/General related.

must have wanted a ton for them. i would think  any original dukes car would be worth big money... always liked the old police cars. were they the georgia police cars?

Wakko

No, there's not a huge demand for the police cars.  Bidding didn't go that high.  They were 74/75 Monacos I believe.  Here's an interesting site with TONS of screen caps of all the cars of the show.  If you have dial up, it'll take a week to load them.

http://www.tilleysdukes.com/index.html

When the first five episodes were filmed in Georgia, the two wrecked police cars and Lee1 were brought to a "back yard junkyard" where they weren't succeptable to being picked apart or crushed.  It's the only reason why they survived.  I'm sure there are a couple wrecks hidden out there that were recovered from the junkyards before they started cutting off the roofs/doors.

This is our Mopar chapters  'one of 17' Generals from the show, I hope his wife does not kill me  ;D

Jim only keeps the car running well, waxes it, and puts gas in it. It still has the 383 in it from the TV series.
Kind of funny how they chop out the rad supports on those cars for fast engine transplants and just leave
it open. As usual his is a 68 ' well from the factory anyway'.

The car in front of us is a Hemi 4sp Superbird...... :P :P

We went to Octoberfest several years in a row, they shut down the main drag in the old part of town
for are car club. They brought horse drawn carriages right through the middle of the street, the hole
day was beautiful, we had about 35 cars there at Levinworth.

I never get tired of looking at your car, Dan.  The stance and color are just great.  Combined with the '68 grille, looks awesome.
