rotisserie builders, I need your advice

I have gotten most of my rotisserie made. It is now time to start making the rotating assembly that bolts to the car. I have heard the the rotating assembly needs to be placed an inch and a half off center in order to account for the transmission tunnel not being perfectly centered. Is there any truth to this?

The tunnel through the floor pan is offset, but this doesn't affect how you mount the unibody to the rotisserie. 
Use the bumper mounting locations or frame rails both front and rear as reference points.
