My jack doesn't work properly - it only goes up but not down - even if the lever is in down position. Is my lever bent? Here's a picture:

I think they need a load on them.  Not sure if you can crank it down with out it having a load?
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

     only way to do it with out any weight  , is to pull it down as your cranking it down with your hand  it sort of rocks & clicks down a notch at a time
