worst car I ever owned?

Easy..it's the black 66 Charger we still got...back in the 70's...it was our only car for our new family...every time I put gas in it, it broke down...

now it jsut sits in the garage and every time I go out there, I stick my tongue out at it..

Well, you should have stopped putting gas in it!  :nana:

The worst one I've owned was a 1982 Reliant wagon, that one over there...

I nicknamed it "The Turdboiler". It lasted almost exactly 99,500 miles, when it broke a timing belt. Then for some reason, it was all downhill from there. All I did was pour money into it, and the damned thing fell apart faster than I could fix it. :brickwall: I finally sold it to a couple dykes for $150.
BTW, the '75 LTD in front of it was a great car...it just got terrible gas mileage & my wife was embarrassed to be seen in it. I sold it a few months after that pic was taken.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Im not sure if it was really the worst car I ever had,but the car I hate more than any other was our 92 Dynasty. We had a 145k turbo Lancer when my first wife got pregnant. To be safe and have something reliable we sold the Lancer and bought the 60k Dynasty, tranny locked up on the Rail Road crossing with my X wife and My oldest daughter (about 6 months old at the time) in it. We had a new one put in it after and it started slipping after only a couple weeks..........Down the road it went!
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

I was given a 75 Ford Maverick 4 door with a straight sick. I wanted a beater to go trail bashing and I thought the car would be fun. The motor made less power than any other car I'd had, so tossing it sideways would only happen on ice. I live in California, so not much chance of that.
I took it out the second day that I had it. I knew of a construction site where they were building houses. I tried to have fun with it but that Ford motor was a slug. My weed wacker had more torque. I drove the car off of a few 4 foot cliffs and tore a gash in the radiator. This was YEARS before cell phones, and I didnt want to walk 12 miles home. I Topped off the radiator with muddy water from a puddle and left the cap off to avoid building pressure. Within a mile the oil light was flickering and I heard some clattering. I stopped to check the oil. It showed FULL on the stick, so I pressed on. At the point where I was crossing a bridge, I had the loud pedal FLOORED and the car topped out at 35 mph. I didnt want to get stranded on a bridge! The water temp was in the HOT end of the scale and the flickering oil light was now a glaring, solid red. It was knocking, smoking and struggling to keep moving. The motor shut down without any drama and I popped it into neutral and coasted into a gas station on the other end of the bridge. I called one of those..."tow away junk cars" numbers  and said that they can have the car on the condition that they give me a ride home. They did.
In retrospect, I have had WORSE cars that turned out to be decent ones once all of the mistakes commited by previous owners were fixed. The Maverick  gets the award for the shortest time I have ever owned a car. I had high hopes for off road fun. It FAILED me.

My worst car/truck was my wife's 1991 F350 dieasel duallie.  It started eating batteries, starters, and positive battery cables.  Plus it was a conversion truck so hacked up wiring everywhere.  It started a hate for winter weather and would stall when it got below 20.  To add insult to injuries it stuck in our alley and parking spot twice.  (I call my Dakota Super Dak because I had to use it to pull it out of the snow.)  Finally get thing running reliably after we changed the rear leaf springs, clutch, and wiper motor and the engine locks up.  It really loved living up to Fix Or Repair Dayly.

For me it was my 1987 Daytona (bought for $3800 in 1992), had to replace the trans, had electrical problems with it, shifter cable broke on the day I bought it! Everything failed on it...starter, alternator, coil, etc. Finally after a couple of years it spun a rod bearing. It sat behind the house for about a year, then we pulled the engine and rebuilt the bottom end. It was still a POS needing some kind of work on almost a weekly basis.....finally sold the damn thing for 500 bucks.

The mid-70's thru the mid to late 80's was a dark time for quality, no doubt.

Ford Capri.
None of the electrics really worked, gear shifter was sloppy, fumes filled the cabin, had crap headlights and the brakes barely stopped the car.
But what do you expect for a pommie Ford?
Gotta love a '69

I just noticed another thread exactly like this one.  I answered the same thing on March 30 2007.  Yup, I really don't like Ford.  ;D
So glad you said that.  I was reading every thread posted , because I posted also and couldn't find it?  :shruggy:  Guess it's over on the other one?
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

1974 VW Dasher. I bought it to drive while rebuilding the engine in my '70 Charger. Only had it about 9 months and by the time I was done with it is was getting about 10 mpg, was stuck in first gear and burned/leaked a quart of oil every day. I still hate that car and I wish I would have smashed it with a sledge hammer instead of selling it for $150.

1970Moparmann

2000 Dodge Dakota.   Was in a bad accident where a drunk driver pulled out in front of me while I was going 35 and broadsided him-if he wasn't drunk, he would be dead.  Long story short, the airbags nor the seat belts worked :o, and after a long period with Chrysler, they wouldn't fess up what the issue was.   Two years later and many people dying from accidents, they finally posted a recall on the airbag clock spring. :o    Wound up working with Ralph Nader's safety group and found many more people complaining about the same thing.

Take a look at this thread!!!!!!  Just did a google search.

Got rid of that POS ASAP!

Worst car i had was an Ugly Duckling subaru. once one of the front wheel bearing siezed, leaving me in the middle of an intersection.

i've had a couple of Valiants, but although they leaked oil like a sieve, they rarely broke down.

i once had break down in my charger, but rather than call a tow truck, i coasted it to the garage, 4 miles away. lucky it was all downhill.  :smilielol:

95 Neon. Owned 4 years and it spent over 4 months in the shop. It was fun for about 1 year, but after they replaced the head it ran at about 85% power. Sold it with 5k left on the warranty when the paint started separating from the primer.

So far, it has been my 1983 Camaro Z-28 305 CFI with ram air.  The CFI (cross fire injection) has been renamed crappy fire injection or crispy fire injection by more than one owner that I have talked to.  The cap and rotor assembly tends to rotate with engine vibrations, which knocks it out of tune constantly.  My particular example caught fire two different times while driving it (no damage, just aggravation and tow truck bill).  That happens when the factory fuel lines have a rubber hose (factory) near the driver's side exhaust manifold that cracks with age.  [Popped the hood and there was a foot long flame coming directly from the burning hose.  I put it out with a container of water that I had handy.]  Fire extinguishers are a must with these cars, so I carry two in that car at any time.  I looked it over well when I bought it and it was fine at that point in time.  Three years later, it started leaking like a sieve while on a cruise.  It is now been parked for a few years, so I will have to tear it apart and go through everything under the hood again.  Great car when working well, not so much when problems develop....

A 383 69 super bee I had in high school. It was such a pos that on one of the many times it left me stranded I simply got out and walked away. I never went back and have no idea what ever happened to it.

The next was a 70 340 duster I had that NEVER went more than a few miles before something broke. It is the only car I have owned that broke a camshaft. traded it for a KZ-900

Before you guys decide to hang me remember that in '77-'78 these cars were everywhere and dirt cheep. I wish I had them now.
