The money from Canada has finally made it into the account down here so I'm going to be picking the car up this weekend. It's more than an hour drive from where the car is now to home, so it's going to cost a few bucks to flatdeck it here, but my wife's parents live with a half hour of the car, so I'm going to flatdeck it there instead so I can spend a day or two getting it road-worthy and then drive it here. It's running/drivable now but I'm going to drain the gas, change filters, check oil, anti-freeze, trans fluid etc before I make the rest of the trip here. The brakes are good but I might change the wheels/tires over to a set of Weld racing that came on my Cuda and are now just sitting in storage because the 2 back tires are flat and I'd hate to find out half way here that there's a big leak or they're just plain junk.  I'll get better pics when it gets to the in-laws place. Since I've decided to go back to as original as possible with the car I'll be taking pics on a regular basis.

One concern.  Am I reading this wrong?  You didn't already pay for it, did you?

Haven't paid for it yet. I'm a Canadian living in Puerto Rico so I do wire transfers between my account up there and my account down here unless I want to take the money out of the account 360 bucks per day which gets old real fast. It actually works out pretty well, it gives me a week to decide whether I really want whatever it is I plan on buying. And I have that time to decide what I'm going to do to the car and what bits I'm going to need.

Hope all goes well and will be waiting to see some pics.

Got it home, was a bit of a pain to start once it got here, but after a new battery and letting it sit for a while it reluctantly started and moved into my garage. I found out the brakes quit, so it was a little nerve wracking getting it up the drive way and into the garage with only the emergency brake. I'll post pics soon. My laptop doesn't have bluetooth, so I have email myself the pics, save to the computer and then to photobucket so it's a bit of a ball ache.

Here are some pics I got
On the flat deck ready to go.

Got it home

In the garage.

the only major bodywork on the car, besides the sail panel

Lots of surface rust. I'll find out how deep it goes soon

Floors are good except for the Flintstone bits on the front

All the bodylines match up pretty well.

Grille inserts need paint, but they're complete

A lizard egg I found after I pulled the seats

The carpet is in great shape as well. I'm pulling the bumpers next week as well as all the interior bits, deck lid, doors and front fenders. I'm leaving the engine and trans in for the time being so I can move the car over if needed

Damn, looks like that poor thing had a salt water bath.

there looks to be some paint on that rust. :smilielol:  good luck with your new project. will the parts for this model be around or will you have to order?

Most of the parts I can get around here but I might have to order the odd thing. The car isn't as bad as it looks. Most of the rust is just weird surface stuff that looks like welder slag.

The one picture I wished I'd gotten, but missed was the one of the Karate class doing stuff in front of my house. It looked like I was about to get attacked by Ninjas

I got lots done this morning and remembered to get pics. I got the doors, fenders, deck lid, hood and some of the chrome off. After you get past the surface rust on the outside it seems to be in great shape. The tray in front of the front glass is solid, and so are the drip rails. The front clip is pretty solid and undamaged too.

stick to it my friend.  tearing them down is the easy part.  Following thru with putting it all back together is the hard part.   :yesnod:
