First car was a 1980 Buick Lesabre station wagon, 350/TH350, had over 350,000 miles on the original engine and trans.  Mom and dad gave it to me so I could get a job.  The car lasted all of 2 weeks.

Drove mom's car back and forth to work for a couple months and saved my pennies and dad loaned me the rest of the funds to make up the difference to buy my 73 Charger.  Still have it, still love it, sad that I haven't driven it in almost 12 years :(
Remember the average response time to a 911 call is over 4 minutes.

The average response time of a 357 magnum is 1400 FPS.

My first car was a 71 Chevelle, when I bought it the engine was shot (so was the car pretty much) and it was quite rough around the edges. I put it together throughout high school. The engine I put in it was a mild 350 that was built by an ex sprint car racer. The thing revved like crazy. Trans was a modded TH350 and I threw a B&M shifter in it. It sounded pretty tough as I was running Moroso race mufflers and it sure made people turn their heads, when they saw the car the reaction was almost always ::) The front clip was primer black and the rest of it was a pastel-ish green. I redid the engine bay which looked pretty trick. It was a fun car and had some spunk.

I'll try to find pics of it....

Edit: Found some photos of it's transition.... what a trip down memory lane... Haven't seen them in years..

Oh boy, good post here. Mine was a '79 Ford Fiesta S, which was basically an English Cortina with a very peppy 4cyl/5spd. Hell of a car and fortunately, they had the wisdom to back the carpet with a rubberized kind of tar, as the driver's floor was pure Yabba-Dabba-Doo. I miss that one!

Oh, and I have returned to the Dark Side, as I am the proud owner of a '64 Galaxie 500XL.

Mine was a '77 International Scout. Dad gave it to me when I was around 15. I wish I would have kept it. It wasnt all rotted out like most of them are. It was sold to fund the Charger project.

My first car was a 1970 Plymouth Road Runner Coupe with a matching number 440 six barrel, 4 speed and a 4.10 Dana. I bought it in 1981 for $250. I was 16 years old.
I got temporary plates for it on my 18th birthday (my father wouldn't put it on his insurance.). I took it out to meet my buddies at the spot that all the car guys hung out. I arranged to race a friend with a 70 Monte Carlo 350 Auto. The race never happened. When we were driving to where we would race, I blew through a yellow light with all 3 carbs wide open. There was an officer sitting in the intersection where I didn't see him. He pulled me over and gave me a stern warning about not getting caught driving over the speed limit in "his town".
It is sitting in my garage. I have gotten about 3/4 of the way through a rotisserie resto. I never intended to do a concours resto. It just kind of snowballed out of control.

Nothing cool - 88' VW Fox.  Bought it for $800 from my aunt in 1996.  Drove the crap out of it, then totaled it while out on a first date with a girl I was totally nuts about.  I was driving a bit distracted...

Charger´69

I bought my first "car" in 1996 when I was 16 years old.. It was Datsun 100A 1975  :icon_smile_big: We get driver´s license here in Finland at age 18 years old, so my real first car that I drove legally was BMW 315 1.6 liters 1983, I drove it one month and bought BMW 520iA 1984 and that car I had two years. Now I´ve had almost 40 cars and I´m 30 years old, my friends say that I´m sick or something because I change my cars so often  :smilielol: But Charger is my first car that I won´t sell never  :coolgleamA: Because I found a REAL car...  :D

... And what come to that "sickness", yesterday I just swapped my BMW 525TDSA Touring 1998 to Chevrolet Sportside Silverado 1989 with Chevy 6.2 diesel engine  :2thumbs: This is my second Sportside, I just love these as a daily driver  :2thumbs: Now smallest engine car in my yard is 6.2 liters  :coolgleamA: That diesel engine is swapped to Sportside afterwards, Sportsides wasn´t manufactured with diesel engines from factory.

1975 Plymouth Valiant. Parents bought it from a neighbor for $250 in 1986. Slant six with 58,000 miles. After body work and a paint job it looked like this, kooky moon discs I know but couldn't find any wheels back then with the 4 inch bolt pattern . Sold it in 1988 for $900 to fund the purchase of my 1973 Satellite Sebring Plus that I still own.

BIGBLCK11

1969 Mustang fastback Mach I, $400 in '84 at 15.  My dad thought I was going to drive it, but I wanted to restore it (with what $$, I don't know).  Got my license and talked them into a 77 Chevy Monza.  The 4 cyl. started knocking soon, so I just drove it until a rod came out the side of the block.  Dropped in a small block and had some fun!  Only got the Ford, because my dad said no MOPAR.  I guess he didn't like working on my grandma's Dodge van too much, also being a Chevy man.  Since I was going against the grain with the Mustang, I just wish I had bought a Charger then.

My first car wasn't much to brag about, a 1988 Audi 80 with a 1,8 liter 4-banger.
Beat the crap out of it for 50,000km (31,000 miles) without any serious breakdowns  :2thumbs:
