Are they fully threated up to the end ?

When I got my nut sleeves set, I got three long instead 2 long and 1 short as IT SHOULD BE, so I was wondering if I cut a little bit one of the long ones will get some problem with the thread, where it ends getting some damage on the studs.

If you are not sure just run a bottom tap in it, 3/8-16 I think. Usually make my own out of S.S.  :2thumbs:.

I don't think they are threaded all the way up on the inside....and I also remember that they were "lock" nuts as well....I remember a "nylon" little nubbin on the inside of the threads towards the end

Nacho-RT74

well I think if they have the nylon lock ring inside on them is kinda ridiculous because it will melt  :-\

ok, just found where I have storaged the sleeve nuts and no lock ring inside, and they are not even drilled all up to the end, barelly half way, and threads a little bit less, so will need to machine it to drill it deeper and the same with the threads

actually dunno if REALLY will need to cut it, since maybe keep it long won't affect anything... ( or yes ? )

short version is for the dirvers side to allow clearence between the nut and the steering shaft. depending on year and model.
I do not know if the long version will fit in this location

I think my car got when I removed all the same size and thats why I got all 3 long version, but have to be sure about. Anyway, nothing hard to solve. If required, just take it to a machine shop and cut it a little bit, drill it deeper and add threated in...

what's the lengt difference ? maybe 3/8" ? 1/2" ?

I have seen some vendors offering the long version being 2.5" and the short version 1.94"

then year one says the short version being 1 7/8"

the ones I have new repro are around 2 3/4" ( end to end )
