I have the typical aftermarket chrome-cover VR on my firewall right now.  I have a lead on NOS date-coded VR's that have been bench-tested and I want to grab 1 or 2.  Just wanted to make sure there aren't any concerns with getting an NOS one since they're 40 years old?  Should I just get a repro one that looks close to correct, or would one of these NOS ones be ok to use?

Just get new from Mancini, their not very costly.  :yesnod:

OK, maybe it's me and I'm losing my mind, but are Mopar parts stores online wrong in their description of these restoration date-coded VR's for sale?

There are two available, one with a 321 date code and one with a 419 date code.

77R06286   O.E.Voltage Regulator "419" Date Code
77R06285   O.E.Voltage Regulator "321" Date Code

Based on how VR date codes are read (and check my math), but 77R06286 (419) means the VR was produced in the 41st week of 1969 and 77R06285 (321) was produced in the 32nd week of 1971.  Right?  If I'm correct, why do some of these retailers say the 321 box is for 1970 cars and the 419 box is for 71+ cars?

I should get the 419 box, right?  Thanks for the tip B5, I almost bought an NOS one for $110, now I'm going to get a close-enough restoration grade VR with a date code for $20.   :icon_smile_cool:

Just ordered one from Todd Marsh @ www.mopartsracing.com.  $17.25 and ~$5 shipping.  Mancini wanted $20/ea and $20 shipping.

Todd is super! (Didn't know he had them.)  :2thumbs:  I've gotten many parts from him in the past also!
