The Paranoid album was ground breaking and recorded in one week.

yeah, but that was more due to the band's sound.  You think they couldn't have done the same record with Dio?  It  probably would have been even better.

Ozzy wasn't "Ozzy" til after he went solo. He was just Sabbath's singer. Theres a reason why the band went on without him (rather successfully) and he couldn't get things going on his own til he hooked up with Randy. Ozzy's a joke.

As much as I love Dio's voice, to me, Sabbath IS Ozzy... Dio's best stuff is when he went out on his own.

Your absolutly Right, Too Bad they couldnt keep their shit together, Rainbow got really "poppy" when Dio was ousted. It's amazing to see how well Dio's style worked with Ritchie and Tony, Two completly different styles.Yet Dio Pulled it off Volcally.
I think Ritchie's Playing style suited Dio More than Tony at that time (early 70's) But for the 80's Dio with Tony's Handiwork was on the mark !

Man those were the days.

Just had a brain cramp.  :eek2:

I was going nuts trying to remember what band I saw when Rainbow opened for them. After googling a bunch of stuff, I managed to figure out that it wasn't Rainbow I saw, it was Whitesnake.

Still can't recall who they opened for, but I think it might have been Queen.    :shruggy:
