I recently purchase a pair of Polk 6x9's and went to install them today. They're far to big for the factory package tray openings without major hacking. I sent them back and ordered a pair of 5x7's that I hope will drop right in. Lessons learned.  :shruggy:

on 3rd gens one side is 5x7 ( driver ) the other one 6x9 ( passenger )

and even 5x7, the screws location at least on 3rd gen doesn't match between commercial speakers on rear tray.

not saying will be a fact on your car but giving my experience.

I ended finding and buying a NOS 5x7 Mopar speaker in $21, which BTW is fair enough to what I want

Hello Nacho! The opening sizes are different on my 69 as well. I didn't think after market speaker holes would match those from the factory. I was wondering why the speaker openings were different sizes and I found out that the larger hole accomodates a rear defroster motor/fan assembly. I have the POLK 5x7's on the way and I'll post pix of the install and where I mount my SST head unit.
