They might be paying to man the gate for a long time.

If some moron hurt himself while illegally joyriding in there, the property owner might end up dragged into a lawsuit.  It would be an expensive PITA for the owner even if they weren't ultimately found liable for anything.

You can kinda see it coming, but it probably will get torn down for a new Walmart.

I sure hope some one gets it.  There are not many Drag racing and even less circle tracks around. :Twocents:

Until something changes on the Madison County property tax bill, it'll probably just sit there with the Maytag repairman on patrol.

No one will buy it with millions of dollars in back taxes owed, and a perpetual seven figure tax bill in future years to boot.  In the meantime, many jobs are lost, they still have no property tax income from that site and millions are lost in revenue to surrounding area businesses.

From a pure economic standpoint, it's surprising the track lasted this long.  If it wasn't for the big crowds generated at Gateway's NHRA races, they'd have turned turtle a while back.

Man, That doesn't sound promising :rotz: Has anything been said about next years Monstar Moopar?  People have said it will not happen, Move to Wentzville, Move to Chicago, and even that the Wallace Family was going to buy the track adn the event would go on as always.  None of these are from realiable sources :popcrn:

yea there is 4 or 5 guys in the tussle, but according to the paper (which we all know tells no lies) the last guy had 18 acres that was holding up the deal, but he was turning it over to clear the way ( which was supposed to allow him to walk without owing any back taxes and fees). now i didnt read any news for the last couple days, so if it was in there you would know more than me allen. all my info is from the newspaper. plus my inside guy from hagan racing was in my office a couple days ago and was in contact with a few people and seemed to think it was going through except the part that allanabi might be making another push to try to get back into it now that the taxes were dropped from the millions down to 200.000 and some change. :shruggy: but when it comes down to it, who the heck really knows.
