Some Sub-Frame Connector Questions.

Ive got my car on my Rotisserie and already have the underneath done.I let my brother talk me into putting some connectors on in which I havent done yet.I was thinking it wasnt a good idea to put them on until I had my car completly done but I have also seen others put them on while on the Rotisserie which would be easy.Just wanted some opinions when I should put them on?and another question.Im going to build my own connectors out of the 2x3 1/8 mild steel and Ive read the operation Hook post and they look awesome but I was just wondering instead of trimming them down to a 2x2 to fit under the floor boards why cant you just turn them sideways so you dont have to trim them down to a 2x2.Seem like it would be just as strong as to cutting them down,may not look as good though because of the width.Thanks!!!

most go with the 2x2 - do it now on the rotisser 10X easier and before you paint or wherever you weld will come through on the other side and ruin your nice new paintjob!

A lot of people have put them on deferant ways so you will be looking at tons of ways, I did it level cut the floor and in the rear sub frame some one showed me this before I came here !

Chryco Psycho used to recommend use 2x3 sideways I believe. I had 3 sets but ended up getting a great deal on a set of the fitted ones. Mine were welded on with the weight on the suspension.

Mine are a bit large for most people, but they sure do get the job done

  Those are Huge.That car dont need torque boxes and the welds are pretty.

Anything is better than nothing.    I have old MP's on the black car,   got a couple hunks of 2x3 to be welded into the brown car.

Whatever,  just do it!

I have always wondered make my own ones with regular 2x2, but dunno about the fiting on an isolated car ( due the diff rear crossmember style ).

Then dunno if welded or bolted. I know MP sell them being able to be bolted and I'm toward to bolted pieces

Buy the bolt on ones... bolt them, then weld them

I got my Sub-Frame Connectors welded in.I used .125 gauge steel or some call it 1/8 gauge.I turned them sideways and I am happy the way they turned out.I would have went with the US cartool rails but I had too much done to my car to redo it all.These pics are with the first coat of bedliner on em.I have em finished now.
