And the worst part about this is the "big" kid got suspended for his actions(heard on the news last night).  The big kid reminds me so much of my nephew. A BIG BOY, but one of the nicest kids you could ever meet... No one would guess he's been in Karate for 5 years and probably isn't the one you want to pick on...

Most of the time it's best to try to avoid a situation or talk your way out of them, but in some cases you simply can't avoid a physical confrontation & have to fight back. I was bothered by this one bully in grammar school at lunch time on the playground semi regularly. He had a friend that was HUGE & seemed to be his body guard, so I suppose he felt invincible. I wasn't the only one who this kid bothered & nobody fought back because of the big kid he hung with. One day I guess I had had enough of his crap & threw a punch at him. It knocked out one of his teeth, knocked him down, & left his huge friend looking like a deer in the head lights. He never bothered me again.

I'm glad the kid in the video being picked on stood up for himself & kicked the other kid's ass, but part of me is glad the bully didn't end up with permanent damage like being paralyzed from a broken neck. I bet the kid who got slammed won't be bothering people in the future.

If that big kid was my boy I would reward him with anything he wanted within reason.  All this talk will never get rid of bullying. Bullies understand one thing: violence.  It's not pleasant, but you gotta speak their language to get through to them.  They are defective, born and raised of defective parents who likely are bullies themselves or at bare minimum are just plain rotten parents.  This eliminates any possibility of working the bullies parents to resolve it. 

I was never a bully and I didn't get bullied any more than any other kid, but it's a pet peave of mine and I'd be damned if my boy got punished for fighting back.  I'm not one for going up to the school to piss and moan like the other parents, but this would be an issue that would have me in the principal's office smashing his potted plants on the floor lol.

The kid that was being bullied may have been a target for some time. My hopes for him is that he knows he did what he did because he felt he had to and that his actions could have led to much worse results for that "little squirt".  On the flip side I truly hope it ends him being picked on and ends all the bullying.

None of us being there only says we can go by what we see. That does not mean that is all there was to the story. That being said, I'd like to take the body slammer to a football game sometime...

My son is a big guy...two instances just like that. One all he had to do was stand up. Literally stand up. He was built like the kid in the video the year before. Over the summer grew like a weed (5'6" to 5'10"). Next one was a little different. He was in high school, now 6'2" and I got a call that he had beaned a kid in the head with the basketball. I said it was fine to suspend him for the next few days if that is what they felt was necessary. I also requested they tell me what they were going to do about the kid that was hit with the ball. Since this young man seemed to enjoy picking on the big guy who didn't react until today. I have iced my sons foot, shins, and have called, even came in about this. I was met with silence and my son was not suspended. That kids move was one of "I have had enough of this". You guys know I raised a bunch of boys...my comment..."That was a little over the top...next time just knock him out". If the bully was hurt worse the big guy would be looking at criminal charges. Best one...my boy knocked out a boy at school...parents of the boy are telling me what a horrible parent I was, how I must be beaten at home, I teach him violence, it got worse but you get the idea...all while sitting in the principals office WITH the principal. A teacher brings in a little girl who is in tears because my son was in trouble. Seems their little prince kept pulling the girls hair, stomping on her fingers all while she climbed on the monkey bars...she could have been really hurt. My little one told him to stop 3 times, then clocked him...the other parents were now embarrassed and avoiding my eyes. I said "Sir, do you beat your wife"? Looked at my son told him he was my hero and we left. Sorry off the box now...I just know how that big kids parent(s) feel right now. Hope someone sees the u-tube video that might change his stars.

dumb ass parents.  they put themselves in that embarrassing spot with the "my child can do no wrong" mentality.  Way to much of that.  I love my kids but whenever anything comes up I ask for the story then make up my mind what happened.  Kudos to you chargergirl for letting your son know that it's ok to stand up for what is right.  In a perfect world, I'd want my son to issue the beatdown when necessary, but also to feel at least a little bad about hurting another human being after it's over.  sort of keeps them in check

When my older daughter was in her last year of grammar school she had stuck up for another girl that was much smaller than my daughter and the girl that was doing the picking. We heard about this a few days after the initial picking when after school one day some kids ran to our house to get me saying : SOME GIRLS MOTHER IS PICKING A FIGHT WITH MY DAUGHTER. Well, we lived about 2000 feet from the school and I took off running. Sure as shit, there is this 30-something ___ woman trying to rip my daughters hair out. I grabbed a handful of the woman's hair and barked "QUIT" !!!!!  While pulling her back my 11 year old daughter nailed her square in the mouth.  By this time a few teachers had made it out there and also the principle. After hearing the entire story the woman was removed from school property by a sheriff's deputy and her daughter suspended. Then the principle gave my daughter a bit of a slap on the wrist and he gave me a big wink....

Now I laugh every time I think of this, but truth be told that _ _ _ umm, woman,,,, could have really hurt my daughter and I have to say that once I saw her yanking away at my kids hair and the crap coming out of her mouth it was all I could do to keep from knocking her out myself....

In my mind the big kid did the right thing,  the smaller kid landing the 1st AND 2nd strike. He then should and did put him in his place and walked away



My daughter just got her 3rd KYU brown belt in Karate. I doubt she'll be the one getting picked on , at least not more than once. Shes the one on the right, shown here with her best friend. Whom is about 10 lbs heavier, 2 inches taller and 2 years younger, also a new brown belt
