STILL need help identifying wires!

I am making progress, but still have more wires that I cannot figure out. It's a 68 Charger with at trans.  I'm working on the center console wiring. There are 3 wiring harnesses. I figured out the one inside the console and the long one that hooks to it, but the last one that goes to the kick panel and fuse box is confusing me. There are 2 wires coming off that have connectors that look like they go into the fuse box. They are pink and orange. There is only one open space on the fuse box. Do these two wires piggy back on eachother on the one terminal? And which is the correct terminal they go to?
There is also 2 other wires that are purple and white with terminals, no plug. I cannot figure out where these go.
Also on the backup light harness, there is a plug coming off that I don't know what that could hook into. I don't even see a plug that looks like that anywhere on my wiring.
Pics to follow.
Please help! I get a headache every time I look at this mess! I have a wiring diagram that I bought from YO and a manual that I bought on CD, but neither have the accessory diagram.
Thanks,
Sid

Thought I'd work on the rear taillight harness. Trying to get something together today! The license plate wire comes out of the body with a grommet. The left and right back up lights get hooked up. My question is, do these wires route outside the body and then get covered with the bumper? I have a pic of the way i think it goes. Is this right?

For the console wiring, you've got it pretty much right. The pink and orange wires piggyback on the fuse block, but not on top of each other. Here's where they go:

Now remember in your other thread you were wondering about the purple/white reverse switch connector by the main bulkhead on your dash harness? That's where the purple and white wires on your console harness plug in, but as you noticed, they are missing the connector. Here's a quick picture of mine for clarification:

The backup light/ license plate light wiring picture looks correct, but I thought you were working on a '68  :shruggy:

As for that last plug you said was coming off of your backup harness, I have no idea.

WTF!!  :scratchchin: I see now. The neutral safety switch harness that I got from YO is for a 69 Charger. Therefore, there is a purple & white plug for the console on that harness. My dash wiring has this plug also. So i need to get the NSS for a 68. There must be a difference. Maybe that explains the extra plug that we cannot figure out also. Can anyone tell me how many connectors are on the 68 NSS? Pics are always helpful!
The taillights are for a 69 cause it has a 69 tail on it. When my lovely but dumb wife ordered the NSS she thought it included the backup lights. So back to YO on Mon to get the right parts. Thank you for the help! I don't know what I'd do without this site!

I got the dash in the car!! Thanks for your help!
All the wiring is hooked up from the dash back. I just need the NSS harness. Does anyone have a pic of the 68 harness?
Thanks!

Looks great! No prob and congrats on the progress. As far as the neutral safety wiring, there's not really a harness, at least not for me. There is just one wire that goes from the ground terminal on the starter relay to the NSS on the trans so that the starter relay is only grounded when trans is in P or N. Dont know if this is concourse lol but I made the wire I needed in about 5 minutes in the garage. Also, 68 uses a 1 prong switch at the trans which is harder to find and more expensive than the 69 and later 3 prong switch. But, you can use the newer switch if you want to save some coin and just use the middle terminal for NSS function

I don't mean to hijack, but we seem to be at the same stage. I have a 69 and am getting a migraine. I have what I nom think are two interior light harnesses but not positive. The yellow wires(long),one appears to be wrapped in the main harness and one is not,one has bullet connectors one has spade. Pics suck and now my camera batts are dead. ANY help would be greatly appreciated . Once I figure this out I can clean some more ,route them correctly and install my dash. Thanks for taking the time to read this...

The yellow wires go to the left and right door switch. witch activates the dome and console lights when you open the the door
hope this helps

I think it's for a relay or timer for maybe the ignition light option?

yes its for the headlight on buzzer  & the single gray connector  with the white /black wire  goes to the  ignition switch lamp (if that wire is all wrapped together with the others in that picture

Still confused. Yellow connector (bullet) in pic one goes to jam switch, correct? Second pic. Black circled connector is for buzzer. Green circled connector goes to double yellow ,in harness, by light switch. Where do the blue circled (spade) ends go??

Now that would make sense, except the ends in the harness are bullet connectors and they look original. But yes,now I can see how it would work.
