I would paint the engine compartment the same as the body color. Otherwise it looks like a chevy and Ford thing. :Twocents:
All Chevy's and Fords have a black engine compartment.

Black engine compartments look cheap...

Like a Chevy. :eek2:

Unless, the rest of the car is also black. :Twocents:

I don't want to slam your work, it's been very good so far...

But the black Chevyish engine compartment in a Dodge is a pet peeve of mine.

Yes, Please paint it body color!!   It'll look like you "cheaped" out on it if you go with black!  All that work......... and then to have it look like a Chevy?  :eek2:

Brian, I used two kits (2 gallons).

Thanks for the recommendation of SEM.  I am very impressed with the quality of the product.

Stop spending so much damn time in the garage.  You're making us all look bad!

It's coming along really nice.  Those control arms look great.  Where did you get them?

Well, I do apologize to those that are not spending time in their garage at this time of year.  When we purchased our current home it came with a fully insulated and heated garage.  If that wasn't the case I would be 'waiting' for the snow to melt like many others.

As far as the UCAs & LCAs they both came from Summit.  I have cleaned up the K-Frame and my son did a bit of welding on the sleeve for the bolt from the LCA as it was 'broken out' of the K-Frame.  Pics to follow...

It has been awhile since I provided any updates.  I just haven't had a lot of 'Charger time.  Today I finished prepping the rear end, leaf springs, mounts, k-frame, and hubs and applied the first coat of Rust Bullet (coat 1 of 2).  The finished product will be 'black shell' covered hardware.  I was 'amazed' at  how hard that stuff becomes so it only seemed logical to apply this to the undercarriage components.

Awesome build, your doing some great work. Motivating me to get mine done!

Photos after the second coat of Rust Bullet.  I plan to do the first coat of Black shell in about 2 hours.  Then the last Black shell coat tomorrow afternoon.
