Due to the extreme cold temperatures I spent the day working at home.  Once I finished up the day of work I headed out to the garage to add a 1" strip of sheet metal in preparation for the quarter panel installation later this week.  He are some photos of the progress...

More...   lots of holes drilled and filled...  every 1" the entire length of the quarter panel... Glad I bought an air powered drill on Black Friday...

Here are a few more...  a couple of them are the other side of the car in preparation of finishing up the quarter panel patch in front of the rear wheel well.

Last night I spent a few hours fabricating and welding in the quarter panel patch for the passenger side.  This is the FINAL sheet metal patch on my car!!! VERY EXCITED!!  :2thumbs:   To be honest...  I wasn't sure I would ever get to this point!  Much more to do but the rust replacement patches are complete!

Don't you get a better deal when you order a pair of rear quarters  :shruggy:

Probably...  However this is my 15th Anniversary year and I am taking my wife on a vacation.  Between the two quarters, which I had to choose due to costs, the driver's side was 'MUCH' worse so it received the new quarter... :)

The rust free doors are in excellent shape in terms of rust.  The driver's side door however required some repairs.  I used the original door from the car for a donor piece and the repairs are complete.

The old is cut out... now to shore up the edges so I have something to weld to.  There are ALOT of curves and turns in a door panel...   :eek2:

More...  and the donor door...

72Charger-SE

Cut out the piece from the donor.  I added three inches or so in length, width, & height so as not to cut it short...  :)   Lesson learned the hard way in other areas on the car.

NOTE:  I left the door together for the most part and used a welding blanket to protect the glass from the grinding sparks...

72Charger-SE

Fitting and cutting small areas out at a time..  this was very time consuming but I wanted to make sure it was done right... I didn't have another door if I messed this up...

Welding...

After testing every possible way I could think of I decided to weld everything up...  I am very happy with how it turned out!!
