ooops... made the welds too close...  caught the bottom of the C-Clamp... LOL...

I am hoping these welds look better as I spent an hour or so 'tuning' the welder with .030 wire.  I am able to weld at a higher temp D.5 and a 2 on the wire speed.  Some of these patches were temp C and 1 on the wire speed as the metal is SOOOOO THIN.....

Last ones...

Again, I am not 100% pleased with how it turned out....  but...  I need to think it thru a bit more so I don't end up with more 'holes'...  'thin metal sucks'!   :eek2: :eek2: :eek2:

When you talk about all the grinding, I used to use a regular grinding wheel as you have been using, Then I discovered "flap" wheels.  These things are the greatest! Now the only thing I buy are either thin stone wheels, for cutting metal or flap wheels,  for grinding.  They (flap wheels) will take down a weld faster than a stone wheel and leave the surface much smoother so less grinder marks to fill.  Give them a try if you get a chance. Once you get the feel for them, I don't think you'll ever go back!

I have considered those in the past just wasn't sure how well they worked.  I will pick some up...  Thanks!!

I took the advice and bought some 'flap wheels' for grinding...   :2thumbs: :2thumbs:OH MY SOUL!!  AMAZING!!!  THANK YOU FOR THE ADVICE!! :boogie:

I spent less than 30 seconds on each welded area... AND none of the other metal was damaged during the grinding of the welds!!  WOW!!   I have more grinding to do however I was short on time this evening!

Updates from today...   Spent the entire day (6AM-7PM) in the garage...  I made some progress however alot yet to do before December 27th.  (I have a couple days off the week of Dec 27th and I plan to Rust Bullet the underside of the car).  For that reason I need to finish up all the rust repairs...

This is in the trunk / wheel well on the passenger side.  I need to finish grinding it down some more...

This is the 'drain' area on the inner quarter panel on the passenger side.  What I thought was just a couple little rust holes turned into much more...

I started using my phone pictures to check the welds for 'holes.  It actually worked quite well as much was 'blind welding'...  I am not too good at welding much less blind...
