On a 1968 dodge charger is there a gasket behind the wheel cylinder? There seemed to be something there when I took mine off.
Thanks,

Troy

There's always some sort of foam gasket that's nearly deteriorated whenever I pull one apart. I can't seem to find any listing for a replacement though. I could check the FSM when I get home tonight.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Most folks just omit the foam gasket but, if you feel the need, a little RTV will serve the same purpose.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

I believe it was more for preventing dust or dirt from getting in.

Thanks for the info I think i"ll just eliminate it since it doesn't seem to be necessary.
Thanks again Willy

Yes, there should be gaskets Ft and Rear . They are to keep road debris and water out of the brakes.

I think DMT makes the gaskets :shruggy:

EDIT ,
Found them
and the price is certaintly right.

I just took one off of a disc brake spindle that was between the dust shield and the spindle.  Weird cause the dust shield is totally open.
