Man, an 8.9 Earthquake is HUGE.... I hope the death toll stays relatively low... The Tsunami footage is, how should I say it, spectacular... Amazing the power of the Mother-Earth....

Probably not too many since most of the imported ones are made here.

Pretty sucky situation. The tidal waves are hitting all the way up to the Oregon/Washington coasts.

I agree...and horrific at the same time. Amazing to watch but very sad. We complain about our problems...I just can't imagine what some of these people go through that endure these types of things.

Great, now they say theres a radiation leak at their nuclear plant!   :eek2:  mrs.skip68

Yeah, the surge has hit the norcal coast. Video of Santa Cruz's small boat harbor showed a couple boats capsized, several broken from their moorings and lots of vessels banging into each other. Good bless the Japanese people.

I heard one of the aftershocks measured at the 7.1 mark.  It's pretty incredible.

The whole thing is just amazing and horrifying at the same time. I woke up at 4am this morning to catch my flight home and got out late because I was watching the reports.

Crazy how an earthquake effects half the globe.  :o

Terrible stuff. The Force of the tidal waves were incredible.
Some members of the Japanese Search and rescue that were flown out here for the Christchurch earthquake are on their way back home to help with what they can, tragic situation, such devastation, our thoughts are with them.

It's Karma, for how they treated our POW'S in WWII.

Horrible atrocities and cruelty on a massive scale. Nagasaki and Hiroshima were the price Japan paid for mass murder. That was then, this is now. Knock it off! :icon_smile_angry:

"insensetive" comes to mind... So does a lot of other words, but for the sake of not getting this thread locked we'll just leave it at that...

What a terrible mess, it's going to take a long time to get things back together. Nuclear power is probably finished in this country for another 30 years as well.

Lets talk about now, cruelty on a massive scale, I guess dolphins don't count or whales, but Japan or there people don't deserve going through this!  I just hope it slows them down...........and my prayer's and some of my money will go to helping them recover from this natural disaster.
