'69 B-body starter shield question

It's come to my attention that I might be missing a starter splash shield on my '69 Charger.    But what I'm able to find out they're only used on auto trans.   Is this true, or are they also used on 4-speed trans?

Look for the holes in the frame rail to see if it was ever had one. they were bolted on and will have signs of treads in the holes if it  ever had it.

The 4 speed car I have in the shop doesn't have one, but the auto car does, so it makes sense and the reasoning behind it

I just sold one. The information I found said it was auto only. If that's truly the case, I should have another floating around somewhere from a different car. I'd just have to dig through a pile of boxes to find it.

This guy is saying his is for auto and four speed and by the looks of my setup it should work. It's the same as that sheet metal one tan top posted above, only new it looks like.

You can use them on a 4speed car,no mods or anything. They just didnt have them originally.

Well, that would explain why my car was missing one but had the holes and no threads were cut into them (at the time).  At least it is a quick unbolt thing for me to get back to correct!

I highly doubt anyone will be able to crawl under the car and check out that the holes are threaded.

It still sucks that the car lived that many years without that and now it has to be taunting you under there.......

Hey, I just thought it was a factory screw up along with the lack of wire harness holders on the firewall for the engine wiring harness.  The indicators are there as well as the nub where the tab would get welded to but no evidence of any welding or them ever being installed.  Guess thats what happens when you have a Friday built car!
