Hi guys and gals,

Just thought I might want to add a couple of pics from the "old days" before I started the restoration. The engine , with only a .0030 borejob now makes 588hp @6500rpms with no more bore or journal turning , just a cleanup turn on the crank journals (standard diameter everything) and original carbs and manifold. It does run a custom-grind CompCams hydraulic roller cam but OEM rocker arms now. It also has a few other reliability items in it to bring it up to today's standard but essentially all still there.

I found out the original 1969 carbs (yes,they are original) on this R/T are worth quite a bit of money. More than I figured as they are basically unobtanium and one-year-only items. Mine actually still have the blue tags on them !!

Well , I haven't posted pics in a while due to my medical condition and a little slowdown in the restoration but , .... the body is just about all finished and the reassembly is just about to  begin. Painted it R6 Red as original and used acrylic enamel instead of basecoat/clearcoat and it is coming out really nice . Lots of the car is original but I did have to replace the 2 rear quarters and the trunk and rear sheetmetal. It does have all-original sheetmetal from the rear quarter forward including the trunklid and roof , inside and out.

My restorer is really an ameteur at this but I am REALLY an amateur and he has restored a couple of MOPARS before this. My Charger is coming out fantastic and it will be a thing of beauty when finished. I guess it should be being a NOM Hemicar and all.

A couple of pics of the engine seem appropriate right now and pics of the car will be forthcoming soon , I promise.

They will be coming soon , I promise. The carbs came out fantastic and they look really nice in person. The fellow that rebuilt them put them on a "mule" motor separately and dialed in each one as he is really a holley expert (Dan Davinci). He did not really know much about Carter carbs but he called in an expert in Carter carbs and he freaked out when he saw what they would be working on. He had helped someone find those OEM carbs after looking about 2 years and ended up paying about 10K for just the 2 carbs without linkage as they were just not available any other way !  Made me respect mine a little more , for sure !! They ran slightly rich on the dyno and that is how I like it !!

The motor is built for driving and that is what is gonna happen !!

Thats what i was thinking.   Not original motor.  but technically its and "engine" and not a "motor" which refers to an electrical powered source.  Engine refers to internal combustion power source.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engine

So are you saying this car is and electric vehicle with the original electric motor still in the car?   :shruggy:

I'll interpret for you.   :D

1)  Moved into a house, had no money left for drapes & curtains
2)  Large 3 panel atrium door leading to deck is see through & can transmit cold through glass
3)  Giant drapes, curtains & rods come with giant prices
4)  Moving blankets were free from my Mom's shipping company
5)  Hammer, nails, & pieces of wire were in stock in my tool & hardware supply

This method was more durable than newspaper & masking tape.    :lol:

Well , you guys, as usual, got me confused but , ......my Charger has the numbers on the block that match the numbers on the vin and is numbers-matching throughout . :cheers: ;D I have beeen out of town and did not have reply capability there.  :icon_smile_big:
