Well I can't answer for him but that tunnel ram with the dual 2 bbls(500 cfm?) is retarded looking. Why the hell do it?

It just doesn't make sense, to put a tunnel ram on then 2 bbls as they make 495cfm 4 bbls for this. It is just an odd looking setup. I didn't check but I think the 4 bbl is cheaper also.

Yeah I didn't know why he'd use just 2bbl carbs instead of 4bbl.

What 4bbl carbs would a person even use?

Cuz the builder was cheaping out maybe, and 495cfm 4 bbls usually cost $300-400 used and 500cfm 2bbl carbs are easily under $100 because so many oval track classes use them.

Even a pair of 500 cfm 4 bbls would work and be reasonably priced, but hey...

Well it turns out the car isn't sold, the guy who wanted it couldn't get a loan for the money.

So Im sorry to say I fired off an offer on it and waiting to hear back.

The car is completely solid, new carpet, new headliner, engine is all hooked up and running, 8 3/4 rear end (although it only has 3.23 gears and isn't a "posi" as he put it), brand new brakes. Car is done in black primer so it needs paint (although I like the black primer look) and the seats need to be recovered (Id get some buckets anyways and change it from a column to floor shift), and finally it needs exhaust from the headers back.

The only thing I'd do to that car is change the door panels/arm rests to black and take the hillbilly intake off. That would be a sweet little runner with a normal 318.

Completely Solid????

I beg to differ...You should really do a Google search on 1966-67 Coronets as that rear quarter/fender looks suspect to say the least....As for the "400 HP 318"?? With What looks to be iron heads on it, if it makes that kind of power you can bet it lives on 114 Octane...

"Hillbilly" intake? that's funny....I seem to remember an article on intake manifold shootouts that compared a bunch of intakes, and wanna guess which one produced the best torque AND HP? One hint: It stuck up through the hood and had twin 650 DP's on it...Yessir, a Holley Dominator on an Indy intake couldn't match it...Twas close, but couldn't do it in both HP AND torque...

In a REAL 400 HP build up I would think this intake would be a good pick, but what is shown here they should put the 2 bbl intake back on.

Yeah the owner kept giving me really cryptic one or two word answers so I told him I wasn't interested.  :-\

As for the engine he did say that back during the 80's he used to make these 318's to the exact same specs as this one and sold them. He said they were dyno'ed at 400-415hp  :shruggy:

Yea, hillbilly. You heard it right.
