NASA puts  >>>>>>another<<<<<<  one into the drink - let's get the taxpayers out of this "business" of satellites and have businesses take the financial risks. :Twocents:

Yup, chalk up another $424 million to the enormous amount of time and money that's been wasted on the myth of global warming.

WTH? We're only $14.3 trillion in the hole. Why not drop another $400-some-odd million on shooting rockets into the ocean? I say next time they do it at night and hit the self-destruct button once it's about a half mile up so we can at least see the fireworks.

Um, they outsourced the launch and the non-Nasa rocket failed. That's the second one and the third of nine for that company.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

But how can that be true?  It doesn't match our preconceived notions about outsourcing.

Really? OK then, business screwed up too.  :icon_smile_angry:

My point is - are the taxpayers footing the bill? If so, then let's get out of the business of taxpayers losing money, whether it's NASA or outsourced.

A non-biased, logical statement has no place in this biased thread.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

I remember when comedian Dennis Miller did a bit about NASA years back.. something like "The Russians are opening up Chukee Cheeses' on Mars and we celebrate if we get to 10 on a launch countdown"

If that quote above is really true, where the NASA administrator says a priority is reaching out to Muslims, then that's truly sad.  How about coming up with a solution to keep America in the new age space race in somewhat of an economical fashion?  That should be a higher priority than putting posters of space shuttle in a mosque

I wonder if the people that worked on that rocket got to keep thier job and recieved a bonus?

TeeWJay426

Technically, NASA outsources ALL their hardware.... they don't actually BUILD anything. Outsourcing the launch itself is a bit of a departure for them, but since it's NASA, the taxpayer is footing the bill for EVERYTHING.

That depends on if the current whitehouse resident has anything to do with it.  :poke:
