We have a friend , Ken. He owns a Willys truck. Ken goes to all the car shows with us. He is a great guy. All the guys help get his scooter out of his truck for him. Ken is on oxygen. At the end of the car show season last year we told him we would detail his motor compartment for he, since he can't do it himself. Ken stopped by 2 weeks ago and told us he has pancreatic cancer. And only a 30 % change of surviving the surgery. So , we decided to do a mini overhaulin . Ken thinks his truck is getting detailed. But we pulled his 305. And dropped a 355 with a 4.90 lift in it.  :   We made a lot of calls. And got volunteers.   :2thumbs:

71ChallengeHer

I missed the engine pull. I couldn't go down til I got off work.

71ChallengeHer

The 355 is in.

Not that many people do volunteer work these days and especially on a level with $$ and commitment involved.
Well done, Be proud,  all of you, you will make him a very happy man and it sounds like he could do with some cheer  :2thumbs:
Great to be able to participate in someones positive actions for the good of a deserving person

Some guys out here did a full resto incl panel/paint and BB 402 job on a 72 Holden Monaro for a 30 year old family guy that had had a stroke and left with a type of brain injury leaving him unable to drive. His partner drives him around and just loves it. Great story all round.

I have to resize all the pics.  :brickwall:  We gave the truck to Ken on Sunday. And wow . what a moment. He cried. And kept saying " I feel like I on that TV show " We told him he was " Broke Ass Overhaulin "  And another really cool thing. One of the guys knew where Ken had his car show sign made. So, I dropped of the sign at Sarge's. He took it in to get the motor size changed from 305 to 355. He told the guy what we were doing. And he made him a new sign for free.  :2thumbs: I'll post pic tomorrow when I get home from work.
