Ace Hardware Daytona?

This diecast model has been on Ebay a few times and it's an official release (not a custom repaint).
Was there actually a #00 Ace Hardware Daytona raced or is this fictional and another way to market the diecast version of a race Daytona?

I've got one of those on the shelf.  As for a race Ace Daytona, I don't think they ran with a full interior, passenger's seat and woodgrain wheel.  Just another marketing ploy (they hooked me, so I'm a fine one to talk).

I got mine directly at a Ace hardware.I might have it still in the box unopened if anyones looking.I gotta check my storage see if its still there.I had it when I moved far left column 3rd car down

Wasnt Ace hardware a race sponor on someother type of car racing.I remember other collectible diecasts
