Gear slip!

Hi everyone,

In Spanish we call a gear slip when the automatic gearbox its about to make the shift and the next gear wont go in, goin neutral for a few seconds before making the actual shift. (Its the same work for english?)

Now my common sense tells me that this car witch I bought recently needs service, I don't know much but I think I could start with an oil and filter change on the gearbox?

Any mechanics experts/experienced enthusiast out there that can help?

Thanks.

We call it "flare up". Which gears are flaring up at the gear change?
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
