Well, to those of you that noticed I haven't been around much, get off your behinds and do something productive. ;D I guess it's about time to update my DC.com friends on what I've been up to.

There are a whole list of reasons why I haven't been on here but I guess it comes down to the fact that I grew up. I graduated from Penn State and got a good job when most of my classmates couldn't find work flipping burgers. I've gotten my finances somewhat straightened out from the college way of life and bought a nice daily driver.

However, the important stuff has only happened in the past year or so. On July 25th, 2010 I proposed to the greatest woman (aside from my mother) I have ever met. (She said yes... :nana: )

Erica Lyn

And the biggest project I will ever take on started on February 9th, 2011. At 2:43pm my fiancee gave me a gorgeous 9lb 11oz baby girl. The past 3 weeks have been a whole new universe but I couldn't be happier...

So, if any of you start wondering where I'm at, just remember I'm probably holding a screaming baby or a dirty diaper and have a smile on my face...  :2thumbs:

That's too cool, way to go!
That reminds me of one day a few years ago when  co-worker said of his unborn first child "this isn't gonna change my life one bit"...you wanna BET?? :smilielol: 13 years later, I still remind him of how that kid (& the two to follow) haven't changed his life. :icon_smile_big: He's a good dad though & laughs at his foot-in-mouth moment.

Congrats to you, and the soon to be Mrs. Life as you knew it will & probably has taken on a whole new meaning...I wish you the best.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Congrats my friend.   One word of advise, never work on that Charger, or any other project, when you could be playing with your child.  You can always work on a Charger, etc, for the rest of your life... but once they are grown up and gone, that time you could have spent with them is gone forever.   :Twocents:

Paul, even before I had my own family I would always tell my friends with children that family always comes first. So, garage time will be limited until she's old enough to come help me work on the projects... :icon_smile_big:

The wedding is still being planned and she wants to lose the baby weight before the big day. I've already learned to nod and say "Yes, dear." It's her day, I want her to be happy with it...

There is a fine line between doing whatever she wants just so that she's "happy".  And doing what you think it right regardless of wether it makes her happy or not,.   You're an educated man now and i'm sure you will learn to adapt to marraige just fine.   A wise old man once told me when i was engaged to be married, that the secret to a happy marraige is:

Two checkbooks, and Two TV's, one upstairs and one downstairs.   :Twocents:    :2thumbs:    :yesnod:

After 2-1/2 years we've gotten pretty good at doing what is right for the both (now three) of us whether we like it or not but in the end doing what's best does make us happy. We've had our share of hurdles but we talk about it make a plan and move on pretty well. My mother has told me more than once, you've got to pick your battles and know when they need to be fought...

As for the wedding, we're not worried about getting married. We're just trying to time it so that Leah gets the most out of it. Through the pregnancy it made more sense financially (insurance) to wait until after she was a couple months old.

Her parents have their respective rooms on opposite sides of the house and we already have one TV in the livingroom and one in my office... :2thumbs:

Good advice when given, but behind the times.  I've been married (notice I didn't say 'happily' :eyes:) to the same woman for nearly 22 years, and we have 4 kids (21, 18, almost 15, almost 13), a TV in all 5 bedrooms, along with one in the front room and one in the living room, 5 computers (really need 6) and 2 checkbooks.
BTW, don't forward this to my wife, I'd like to live long enough to see my next birthday! :smilielol:
