Repairing my 2nd gen torsion bar crossmember on each end where it attaches to the inner rocker.

I need a few pics and/or measurements as a guide to place the E brake cable holes, spot weld access/drain holes, braces inside the crossmember etc.
(A pic from the top looking inside a stock crossmember with the floor pan removed would be great.)

Thanks in advance!

Here are pics of the area I'm talking about with a template and 1st test fit of the new section.

Thanks NHCharger.  You've definately helped me out!

That inner stiffining brace is more complex than I thought based on what's inside the rear frame rails.  That's an important juntion where the fwd rail ties in.

You're right about that, although I think those holes were primarily for spotwelding access.

This is an amazing post. The fact that NH had those pics handy....So Tell us Domino how would you rate your service here at dodgecharger.com!
BTW can't help admiring all the clean metal. How do you guys do the inside of the frame rails?

Domino

9/10, only 'cause it took a week,  ::) haha :icon_smile_big:

I just rolled the rotis outside and slag blasted inside the frames and along the firewall seam last night.  Once I get those internal braces in, the plan is to tape off the weld flaps to spray in some cold galvanizing paint, unmask, then spray weld through primer along the flaps and underside of pans before welding it up.

Thanks to NH, I'll have a productive weekend

To be honest my welder crapped out and I had to order a new one. Otherwise I probably would have had the driver side pan installed before Domino asked for the detailed pics.
I sand blasted the frame rails, inside and out. Then applied a coat of SEM rust inhibitor paint. Let it dry for a few days then sprayed the inside of the rails with some rubberized undercoat. On the outside of the frame rails I'm waiting until I install the floors and trunk pan. Then will coat the outside of the rails and the pans with an undercoating.
