Ok so I'm being offered a '72 Charger SE and since Ive been out of the Charger game I wanted to get people's takes on it and the asking price. The person might be a member here so if they are they can clear matters up.

Quote72 Charger SE, originally a 400 Magnum car, 727, 8 3/4", PDB, PS, buckets, console, rallye gauges (no tach), original EV2 hemi orange on white with white vinyl roof, big block suspension, hideaway headlights, etc.

It currently has a nice 440 and a Holley 750 (vacuum secondary), recurved distributor, some kind ov small cam, Hooker Comp headers with a fully custom 3" mandrel-bent X-pipe side-exit (T/A Challenger style) exhaust with Spintech mufflers. Its got a better exhaust tone than any other Mopar i've heard locally (wicked idle tone and screams up top). The 727 was rebuilt not long before i got it and shifts better/harder than my other car with its stage-2 shift kit, the 8 3/4" has a '489' case sure-grip and 3.23 gears. The brakes work well, the steering was converted to manual. The suspension was rebuilt with full polyurethane, i added 72 Roadrunner front and rear sway bars and KYB Gas-A-Just shocks. It currently sits about 2" lower than stock and on color-keyed 15x8" steelies with redline dog dish caps, but i'm not sure if i want to let the wheels go with the car. Tires are 295/50/15 BFG Radial TA's. Its got an aftermarket tach in it, though i've not mounted it properly because i didn't want to drill any holes. I've also installed some newer import buckets, but the car will be sold with the original bucket seats.

Being an SE the car came with a full chrome and light package, dual sport mirrors, most ov which was removed for a cleaner more 'stripper' look, but i have all the parts. The vinyl roof was shot when i got it, so i ditched that too, which is probably why the car still has a roof. It still has the 'Polyglas GT' spare and rim in the trunk (though its pretty bald, it works as a spare). The hideaway headlights work well.

The bad: it needs bodywork. As it sits, fix a few things and it will turn heads like mad as a 50/50 car. It has a small dent/rust hole behind the passenger rear wheel that i didn't get around to fixing yet. The other quarter looks okay but they both have fill in them. The front has a dent in the passenger fender and bumper, which is too bad since both were rust free and pretty nice. But the car comes with a good fender and bumper, rear bumper too if you want it, though mine is fine. It also comes with a nice and straight rust free hood (the one on it is flaky and has a pretty hokey scoop on it). This all might sound a bit much, but the car is dead straight... its been on the frame rack and checked out perfect. The floors are fine, as is the frame, in fact the underside looks pretty damn good. The trunk is getting a bit flaky, but still no holes. Lots ov original orange paint still in there.

The interior is all there, except for the carpet, which was pretty ratty (i might even still have it?), rear seats are fine, headliner isn't beautiful, but its not hanging down or anything. The dash was perfect until last year, when a crack finally appeared... dammit. Seats need the usual care, console and T-handle are good. Really, it just needs some attention.

The other downside is the driveshaft somehow got bent. The car had a vibration when i bought it (the seller told me the engine needed to be rebuilt...) and i chased down everything else in the car looking for it. I've now done everything except the shaft, so when it gets a new one this car should drive like glass. Its driveable, but at speed it gets a bit much. The first money i get i plan on fixing this. Its the only thing keeping me from driving the car now.

The good: this car is fairly well put together. With the old 440 it had (bone stock 67 440 except for a Holley SD manifold and carb) it ran low 13's and 106mph, severely traction limited. The new engine is lower compression, but has more power than the old one, even untuned. When i get this thing tuned it will fly... just waiting for some nice weather

Price is $7000. Its a lot ov car for that.

Now sadly the seller states he has no pictures. The car is about a 14 hour round trip from here so not really close enough for just a day trip.

But the description is really filled out. Now is the price in line with what the car is and the amount of work it needs?

PS the seller lives about an East out of Vancouver if anyone cares to look at the car for me, gas/beer money is provided  :icon_smile_big:
