Gotta love the Vintage pics of the vans. Thanks for posting them. The thing is that the vans are still being built, the truckins are still going on and the girls are still partying. Vanning had slowed a bit but it is picking back up, and quickly. Some of the old van clubs are dying, but there are some that are up and coming. I have only been vanning for five years now and the newest club, Generation Next Van Club (GNVC) is an internet club and brings alot of younger people in. There are vans being built in New Jersey that are really awesome chops, mods and restos. We have a truckin in Virginia called Freezeout (look for it on Facebook!) in January and we get 50 vans or so and have had aussies and Norweigians show up. The Van Nationals are in Wisconsin next summer.
I bought my 89 Dodge for $150.00 almost ten years ago. I got rid of the rear side marker lights and frenched in some skull hitch lights. I got rid of the side windows so I could have more privacy. Got rid of the ugly aluminum running boards and installed one peice fibreglass fenderflares/running boards, added a rear spoiler from a Firebird to the roof. This summer I plan on getting rid of both the side and rear barndoor set up and installing gullwing doors. The interior will have a dual rear battery set up with two 1000+ watt inverters with a microwave, a laptop, tv/dvd player, and a nice sounding stereo as well as a heater and a fridge. If you have a van and love to camp come out to one of our truckins. They are family oriented with special time for adult entertainment too.
Send me a message on Facebook @ J Daniel Downie. I will gladly hook you up with any info, no matter what part of the country or world you live in!

yep, i was with "gateway vans" here. there are several clubs still operating around here. wonder if taz from hi rollin vans is involved in this. you can look up "wisconsin van counsil" and it will list all the clubs that belong to that counsil. think i will try to make the nationals up there. went to the hi rollin vans halloween party several years back and had a blast, but it was cold. :smilielol:

Anyone remember the trading cards with the custom vans on them in the '70's?

ugh, all nice Dodges, but I cant stand the mystery machine. Its been done so many times that , like the A Team van, it has become overdone.
