thats right. i've got an 8 track for the charger and have found tons of tapes for it.  even found a set of old kraco speaker boxes that set in the back window. around here everyone had kraco speakers in their back windows in the late 60's and 70's

The very first car stereo I had was a Kraco with a 8 track in it.

And "Mindblowers", remember those speakers?

maxwellwedge

Had an underdash Muntz 8-Track installed in a car I bought.

Remember Jensen co-ax or tri-ax speakers....they were the next big step.

Musicman

The first aftermarket speakers that I can recall being sold in the late 60's early 70's were "Utah" speakers. Of course this was well before names like Jenson, Pioneer, etc, became common place.

Yes - And to go with the Jensen's - Fosgate had "The Punch" amp........It pulled a bunch of amps/watts.

So just why is it that so many people here seem to associate custom vans with perv's. :shruggy: Are you a perv, with thoughts of one day owning your own van?

I knew lots and lots of folks with these things back in the 60's & 70's... guys and gals alike... and they were not perv's. Well, two of the girls that I knew back then with cool vans, were cops, so maybe they were perv's.
Back then, if you had a cool van, you were top dog on the list of folks to party with (especially if you're a cop  :D)... your party was mobile. Of course, drinking & driving weren't two separate terms back then either, one more or less went hand in hand with the other back then. There was always a designated driver however (the one who could drink and still drive better than everyone else sober).
I just ask, because there are a lot of vintage Van Clubs out there today, and I'm pretty certain that 99% of them are not perv's. Their car people, just like us. :icon_smile_big:
Personally, I would love to have a cool custom van for road trips... I must be a perv. :eek2:

$2500 for that cool van is a good buy...  The wife would be pissed at me if it showed up in the driveway though...  :shruggy:  Hey whats not to love?
