So just why is it that so many people here seem to associate custom vans with perv's. :shruggy: Are you a perv, with thoughts of one day owning your own van?

I knew lots and lots of folks with these things back in the 60's & 70's... guys and gals alike... and they were not perv's. Well, two of the girls that I knew back then with cool vans, were cops, so maybe they were perv's.
Back then, if you had a cool van, you were top dog on the list of folks to party with (especially if you're a cop  :D)... your party was mobile. Of course, drinking & driving weren't two separate terms back then either, one more or less went hand in hand with the other back then. There was always a designated driver however (the one who could drink and still drive better than everyone else sober).
I just ask, because there are a lot of vintage Van Clubs out there today, and I'm pretty certain that 99% of them are not perv's. Their car people, just like us. :icon_smile_big:
Personally, I would love to have a cool custom van for road trips... I must be a perv. :eek2:

you are correct sir. i know lots of vanners that still go trucking today. the vanning events are a blast to attend. just one cool time, and a big 3 day party with some great people. :2thumbs:

$2500 for that cool van is a good buy...  The wife would be pissed at me if it showed up in the driveway though...  :shruggy:  Hey whats not to love?
Does she not want to remember that time period?

Just watched a DVR'd episode of Counting Cars last night (episode was from the last 2 weeks sometime) and there was a custom 1977 Dodge van that they did up for one of Danny's friends.

I'm glad the 70's vans are finally getting some respect, whether you like em or not they played a important role in one of the greatest era's ever the 1970's! ..all the vanners were cool people Im sure.
The vans association with perverts was more or lesss a joke with some roots of truth perhaps, but even then the pervs were associated with the 1980's ford and chevy "contractor" type windowless vans. Far differant then the custom jobs of the 1970's which was a whole differant scene.
