Need help finding a motorcycle part

My dad is looking for the last part for his bike and sadly he's been told it's rare as hen's teeth.

What he's looking for is a crankshaft for a 1971 650cc Bonneville Triumph

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I used to work with a guy who was big time into British bikes.  He'd check the dollar/pound exchange rate daily (this was before Al Gore invented the internet) to place his orders to England when things were most favorable.  His most common saying:  "They just planted the sapling that will grow into the tree they'll chop down to make the crate so they can ship my part when it comes off back order."

I'll call him later and see if he has any ideas where your crankshaft can be located.

The way it was explained to me was in certain later years the 650 Bonneville's were rare, either due to low production numbers and/or switching parts to new types (like switching from 2nd Gen to 3rd Gen for Chargers) and thus the reason these certain parts are rare. Sadly the crankshaft is the last piece he needs to find and is the hardest to find.
