Semi-hemi???

ok so i went to check out a 66 charger, and the guys says someone told him it has a semi-hemi.....so i was like a what???  and he say that's just what the guy said....so here is the vin....if anyone has any info i'd appreciate it....xp29e61234687 :shruggy:

Some people refer to the old style (Poly) 318 engine as a Semi hemi.

I actually liked the Poly 318. I had one in a 64 Dodge Polara and it had some power to it. Its a polyspherical combustion chamber, which is why they called it a semi-hemi. The only problem is that its somewhat hard to find performance parts, but every now and then you can find a dual quad intake or a 4 bbl intake. Other than that during a rebuild you can find parts to work, but from what i've been told you have to check sizes to get things right, as they don't have anything under the engine listing.

I found a CHRYSLER marine 4 barrle intake that worked just fine :icon_smile_big:

thank u for the info, that clears it up, cause i was thinkin it was like a wedge motor or somthin...... any ways this car is complete!  it even has a/c although its not running at the moment, and it just has a little surface rust on the body....it will need a passenger door panel anyone know where i can get one??

Ya polys are good engines. I had one in a 4 wheel drive. I have a 67 have had no luck findind interior parts except carpet and seat covers. The 66 coronets doors front fenders and hood are the same but noy any interior. Have a great day!
