fysical rehab, it is... :scratchchin:

I tore my front knee ligament in November '10. It wasn't really painfull but it kept me from doing my job and sport for the full 100%.
So the orthopedic surgeon and physical therapist advised me to have it repaired.

On 02/14 at 08.30h I went to the hospital, 11.00h I was on the table and 2 hours later back in the room.
The first 3 days were  :eek2: :eek2: :eek2:

I am now a little more mobile with 2 crutches and a brace but I can't get further then the kitchen, bathroom etc.  :icon_smile_dissapprove:

A series of exercises need to be done every day to regain range of motion and minimizing the amount of swelling.

It's gonna be a long way to take up where I left off...

Thanks for reading

What did you do to injure it, Christian? I'll be sure to avoid doing that. Here's to a relatively pain-free and rapid recovery.

thanks guys for the kind words.

It snapped when my so called buddy from the martial arts club locked my knee during grappling* and turned my food the other direction. He's a teacher in my club. Imagine. :flame: :flame:

*Submission holds: There are generally two types of submission holds: those that would potentially strangle or suffocate an opponent (chokes), and those that would potentially cause injury to a joint or other body part (locks). In sport grappling, a competitor is expected to submit, either verbally or by tapping the opponent, to admit defeat when he is caught in a submission hold that he or she cannot escape. Competitors who refuse to "tap out" risk unconsciousness or serious injury.

Hopeing for a full recovery.

My daughter was 13 when she tore her ACL playing soccer. She had to wait until she was 14 and stopped growing before she could have surgery. She had surgery last March. They took the middle third of her patella tendon to use as her new ACL. She was running in straight lines by September and now a year later she is doing fine. Work hard, but don't overdo it and re-injure yourself. :2thumbs:

Ouch. I feel your pain..almost. I've had two arthroscopes on my L knee and will probably have it retreaded sometime in the fall. I'll be using the clutch pedal in the Charger for strength and range of motion.  ;D

Seriously, stationary bicycle with zero resistance is best for RoM. Just begin by rocking back and forth, before you know it you'll be doing circles and adding resistance.

Damn Christian.  Hope you have a speedy recovery but main thing is do NOT rush it!  I learned that with my hernia surgery.  The damn thing must never have healed right and periodically I have abdominal groin pain.

Eh, the pain comes and goes.  I can tell when its going to snow though!  What really sucked was two days after my surgery back in 2003 when I had the surgery was Thanksgiving and not being able to eat a damn thing!

Knee injuries/surgeries=zero fun.  I had 3 on my right knee within 2 years and the recovery process still hasn't completed almost 3 years later.  Take it slow and take it easy is the best advice I can give.

I wish you a fast and successful recovery!!     I just went through a tough injury myself.  I injured my right leg and messed up the nerves in my leg from my knee to my foot resulting in drop foot.  I have been working at it hard with physical therapy and exercise and have regained almost full movement 7 months later.  I have not regained feeling and sensation in my foot yet where it was injured, but I can lift my foot again.  It gets stronger every day.  You can do this!!   :2thumbs:
