Hey

http://acclassiccars.com/event_info.html

Anyone ever been, going, or have any comments? I'm tossing around the idea of driving down on Friday as there is a car there that I am interested in. I have talked to the auction company on the phone and have been trying to get as much info on the car as I can (it's a 7hr/430mi one way trip). They have been nice and accommodating but not real good at actually getting answers to any questions.

Thanks

Me and a friend will be there on Saturday for kicks...bring a gasmask....there is absoultely no air circulation in there.  When these old junkers run in an enclosed area for a while it gets real smokey after a while

I went a few years ago.   Wasn't really worth the hassle...  and I only drove half as far.   Thought I'd go Fri and Sat.   Ended up going Friday for 4 or 5 hours.     Never went back - did some sightseeing instead.

If you're really into auctions or really looking to pay too much for somebody elses problem child... go right ahead.
Not much of any swap meet to shop aside from chinese tools and trinkets.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

With the experiences that you all had and the fact that they were to send me the Fender tag info today but never did, Looks like I am going to skip it. The tag was just another question in a long line that didn't get answered. Nor did they completely correct the listing which I guess isn't really my job to police anyhow.

If anyone knows anything about this car - like say, if it doesn't sell let me know! Thanks  :2thumbs:

x2.  I usually go every year just for something to do in Feb.   I don't live that far away, I normally grab the NJ transit train that's near me and ride that down.
It's nice to go look at the cars if nothing else even though they rape you $20 to get in.

I went a couple years ago and my friend actually bought a car.

Like mentioned, many cars run like crap and the ventilation is horrible. I was getting a headache and the $6 beers were my only remedy. Having the casinos next door was a huge plus.  :2thumbs:

I've been there a few times, & each time I ask myself why I go.
Expensive to get in, swap meet is trinkets and memorabilia, and a small number of Mopar cars.
The plus side? It's a day out with friends.

Well, If anyone does end up going on Friday and can let me know if the car I listed above sells or not I would appreciate it. Heck, if it doesn't sell and you get a chance to check it out, grab a few pics, and pick up the sellers info that would be awesome!  The auction company said the car was scheduled to run through around 6pm but who knows with these things.

Save your money my man....the car is a cobbled up mess that someone had the ballz to be asking 42k for....it did not sell on Friday & the seller didnt have the stones to leave the "car bid up to XXX" sign in the window like a lot of the others that didnt sell did....heres some under hood pics (didnt even bother with the exterior) & the guys info if you want it.  :rotz:
Gotta love the body colored grill frame!

First off, Huge thanks for taking the time to check out the car and grab the info!!

Yikes... 42k   Makes me wonder how low the bidding went that he had to pull the sign to keep from looking like a total tool.

The pictures the seller provided the auction company were obviously before they "completed" the car. Seems like it was a rush job to make the auction date. Funny that the tag has B51/PB but they didn't put the booster back on the car???

Was the body of the car a mess as well?

Too bad. I really like the blue cars!  :yesnod:

Shocker.
I see more things wrong than right. I'd imagine the rest of the cars at AC were along the same similar lines & condition??
Was it still a good day?

The body was OK...some of the panel fit wasnt the greatest.  paint job looked OK.  None of the stainless was polished.  Had the classic R/T emblem over the stripe faux pa going on.  Also had the novice resto blue body colored painted inner door frame as well.

Overall this was pretty much the theme of most of the cars there.  Ask a crazy price and hope for the best.   A lot of the cars were dirty all over with the seller not really even trying to sell...mostly noted in the car corral, where there is a price on windshield.

I can probably count on two hands the amount of "quality" cars there, but none of those cars sold on the block.

Believe it or not, this one sold for 33k, with the original owners driving it on the block.  Funny thing is the auctioneer started the bidding @ 80k!!

Believe it or not my favorite car there was this '70 Olds 442 with the W-30 package in the rare Rallye Red color (which is a bright orange)
Car was stunning in person & I think the asking price was 80K
Sorry for the crappy pics....I had my camera set on the lowest resolution & didnt even realize it :rotz:

I think this guy is from Connecticut.   He brings it to Rhinebeck show in May, Musclepalooza, Mopars at the Valley, etc.   He even brought it to the Friday night ice cream joint cruise where I go in Port Ewen NY.  Nice guy, nice car.
Talked about selling it when he was at the ice cream joint so he could get a Boss 429 Mustang or something like that.
