not all that surprising to me. not like you can run down to your local parts store and pick those up. cheap? no.  why should they be? when it comes to non reproduced NOS e body parts, nothing is cheap.

Old Moparz

Some people on Moparts talk about that seller & have known him for having some rare NOS stuff for insane prices for many years. NOS quarters for any ragtop have always been rare, even 20 years ago. I guess if you have an original Hemi car that needs them & can sell it for over ten times the price of those quarters, they're chicken feed.     ::)

For that price they shouldn't be sitting on concrete in the snow.

For that kind of money you would think he would of photographed in a controlled environment instead of out against a tree in the snow.

Shakey

Lakeside NOS in MI.

I was gonna stop and see him last summer when I was out that way, ran outta time.  I read that he lost his Wife recently and that his prices are usually high.

It's all relative. If I owned a $250,000 hemi challenger convertible that needed quarters, I probably wouldn't hesitate to buy these quarters.
No one makes aftermarket convertible quarters and probably never will. I had to convert regular aftermarket quarter panels to repair my chal convert a few years ago. What a pain.
He'll sell them as soon as the right guy sees them.

Isn't it funny how people will gladly pay thousands of dollars for 35-year-old thick steel panels that fit correctly (even when they're USED and the spot-welds are drilled out!), while the repro industry insists on producing nothing but lower-priced tinfoil crap for the sake of "cost effectiveness"?

My wife thought I was crazy when she found out what I had the sport wheel restored for. If she only knew what it cost to have the 8 track and bezel restored.

Maybe I'll save this auction link as future defense for the money I spend on things.

IMHO repro industries need to get better pieces, don't care if prices increase a little bit. When I get the "Catwiskers" from YO I was depressed...  those are UGLY AND BAD QUALITY PIECES NOT EVEN CLOSE TO ORIGINALS. Holes to screws didn't match and end are just cut, not even bended or shaped on ends to give some very good look.

If I would know that I just go to a dealer here in Caracas that sells the weatherstripes by lenght ( 8 feets long ) and would made by myself. They are closer to originals. To cut the pieces as the ones I get, DAMN I CAN MAKE THAT... I would paid around 60% less than I paid and WITHOUT SHIPPING.

If you guys up there ( not only Chrysler restorers, also Ford and Chebby ) don't ask for quality, then nobody will do. SURE I NEVER WILL BE HEARD.

I want to buy some day in teh future for new quarters and trunk extensions, but I'm afraid about that.
