Kick Down Linkage

Hey guys i recently put a 360 in my car and didnt hook up my kick down linkage cause it didnt line up to the 4 barell so i didnt think any thing of it and drove the car for about a week or 2 to school and back. Then found out on here that it burns up your trans. My question is what damage is it doing? I stoped driving the car because im rebuilding the 904 and installing a manual valve body.Can i still drive it just a couple of miles to and from school untill i get it rebult next week?

If you didn't get in the throttle there's probably little/no harm done and a few more easy miles won't destroy it.
