Converting from PS to Standard

I want to convert my 73 from power steering to standard steering.  Has anyone else done this?  What will I need?

you will need a new manual steering gear box, adapter link, and most likely a pitman arm

yes, I think manual steering has a larger ratio on Pitman arm and would need also the iddler arm.

What is for sure is you need to change the steering box and the steering coupler body since box stud is larger diameter.

there is right now a guy (57Hemi) selling a steering box on parts for sale section. I haven't checked the post.

about the coupler... buddy I'm giving you the pic, PN, the price and the link on last reply. Search on restotration parts. Ther you can also buy the kit ( at a side of the coupler pic on reto section ). Kit is the same to both kinds of steering.

there is another way.  find any 66 and up b body that has manual steering and remove the steering column shaft.  They used the same length all the way up to 75 for all i know.  this way you do not have to buy an adapter.  I found one in a junkyard for 75 bux.  that is the steering column and manual steering gearbox.  I have used a 67 satellite wagon's steering column shaft to put m/s on my 71 charger.  hope this helps.

that's the other way LOL... difference could it be that laters B bodies as far I know are more articulated, with a rubber coupler in the middle of the way ( between firewall and box ).

On a 73 and laters is very important stuff, since K member is isolated and it has some extra "movement" from the rest of the body
