Anyone install a Lokar kickdown cable for a 727?

Can I get rid of all the stock kickdown linkage or do I still need to connect the Lokar kit to any of the stock brackets? I have the kit but I still can't figure it out...is there another spring or bracket kit or something that I need to have as well? Right now I have the cable connected to the tranny housing, but how does the the other end get connected? Does anyone have pics?

The instructions for that kit are horrible. The rear mount is easy to figure, but the front mount instructions are confusing. I made my own thottle/lokar bracket (see attached pic - lokar cable at the bottom of the bracket). At least this shows how its supposed to work. I just couldnt see how the brackets in the kit get you there. Sorry - I cant take ay more pix because its no longer set up this way. Hope this help somewhat.

Yea, you are gonna have to rig something. I rigged   something different for my Lokar cable too. I don't have a great pic of it though. Just check out what you got in your garage and rig away.

i have 2 of them, one on my 71 roadrunner and one on my 68 satellite  and i used the arengineering bracket just like the gereral did.  makes a nice clean install

I used Mancini's kit and brackets.  Mancini just repackages the Lokar kit and include better instructions.  To Lokars detriment, the kit should be sold with the brackets.

What really suprises me is that Lokar has not responded to the issue. I bought mine 5 or 6 years ago and the kit still comes with the same lousy instructions and mounting hardware. It's a nice kit other than those items. Hurah for Mancini!

Some say the Bouchillon kit is a better fit and uses a Mopar cable that can be replaced more easily if need be.
