Yes. the bike show is in vancouver Wa. in august.. There are shows all over the country.  Mostly  older folk 30-50 + year olds. old school guys and some gals.
If you want to check out alot of pics of bikes that you remeber or had when you where a kid look at    bmxmuseum.com    there are over 30k bikes posted and lots of pictures too look at.

Here in Australia we have pretty big ride days for a sleepy city. I think the count on the last run was about 43 BMX bikes, and that wasn't the biggest run of the year.

Those pics tracpac posted has inspired me to build another bike    lol. Those JMC and DeCoster Goose BMX's look awesome. Not looking forward to the build cost as some of the parts like that Takagi crankset on the JMC are about $400+

I took my Solution Pro out for its first real test ride since being restored and was a bit disappointed that it developed an issue with the rear hub again. The original rear hub had a cracked bearing cup so I had the hubs machined to accept sealed bearings from a Skyway kit. The crush sleeve looks like the culprit so off to the machinist tomorrow to try and remedy it.

I wouldn't consider any of the "Crate Machines" as BMX, but they definetly are cool.

I starting riding BMX back in the mid 70s before there was much in the way of dedicated machinery. Our best deal was to strip down a Stingray frame, paint it black,  and start adding tougher parts. I was starting getting in to cars about the time it really took off and eveyone and their brother starting building dedicated BMX parts. I did manage to step up to a Murray frame and a few trick parts before hanging it all up. One of the neatest add ons me and my buddies ever came up with was a motorcycle tire trimmed down in width to just fit inside the rear frame. With the size and weight of that, keeping traction was never a problem.

As the only kid on the block with an Kodak Instamatic, I actually have a number of action shots from back then. I'll see if I can find them and scan some in.

I've been riding my D-Tour nearly everyday for the past year to and from class. Its great, it just goes through brake pads very fast because they need to be soft to work well with the plastic wheels.

Thought I'd post my latest bike as I finally got pictures of it. It was an expensive exercise but worth it, it rides like it just left the factory and is mostly original. It was in pretty poor shape when I got it from sitting in the shed for a long time.

It turns out this very bike was raced at the local track here over 15 years ago from the first owner before being sold to the second owner and stuck in a shed for 15 years. I visited the track the other day and it's still there. Pretty cool to bring the same bike back to the same track after all these years and ride around it again 15+ years later.

Not really old school or collectible... But the story behind it is cool.

Here is another bike I just restored. It is actually my first BMX from when I was younger. It's not 100% at the moment but close, I'm watching a more original Mongoose branded seat on ebay at the moment. The stickers aren't original either but they fit the era, one day I'll have the originals redone.
