I have a feeling that there is parts of this story We havent heard yet.
You're probably right. It's one thing for the body shop to end up with the Charger, but the title too?

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

brads not a friend of mine, but a buddy was trying to deal on the car before all this crap started and told me of the situation.it makes my blood boil hearing stuff like this.brad did go to the police, but they wont do anything calling it a domestic situation.

A domestic situation?  WTF?  I agree, there has to be more to this story.

I cannot comment without having more info, I thought I could do some investigating since I know most of the south city mopar folks and shops,..
Some of the comments made thus far are nothing short of ludicrous.

he used a warehousemans lein.

Not saying true or false, but you guys seem to have forgotten that the OP said the seller in question used a warehouser's lien to obtain a title.

I agree, more to the story. Maybe he should have taken it to the white guy in Kentucky. http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,66310.0.html

I don't know that white or Mexican or even Martian has anything to do with it but there do seem to be one or two odd gaps in the story. :Twocents:

Id trust a mexican over a redneck anyday..only because the mexican wouldn't know what he's got and the white dude would try to screw u because he knows what. He's got...either way we don't even know what race had to do with this so all that talk about race is pure ignorant

guys get off the race issue, has nothing to do with what is going on here.

68charger383

The story isn't really adding up for me....guy gives a car to someone else to clean up for BJ and they'll share the profits etc., mechanic lien placed etc., seems like we're missing a lot of the small details.  :scratchchin:

If he needed Ex. $15K to bail the $100K + BJ potential car out from the body shop, I'm sure there were plenty of people who would have lined up (with a written contract) to give him the money we'll say in exchange for repayment of the loan + $5K upon the sale etc.   :shruggy:

Hate crime? Is the guy gay or something?

i read somewhere mexicans were involved....therefore, anything done by force is a hate crime...

i believe the original statement was a descriptive term, *I* was pointing out you cant go in and start swinging or shooting because unfortunatly, like it or not, and action done WOULD be a race thing....

i posted the story as told to me.the guy brad who lost the car isn't whining at all,in fact hes walked away from it and is trying to forget about it.he realizes hes made a stupid mistake.but hes not in a financial position to do anything about it.thats why this is so sad.this con man is a slick talker and could sell ice to an eskimo.because brad has owned the car for 35+ years(in storage on his dads property)does not mean hes a savvy car guy or even a car guy at all.he was trying to clean it up a little to sell and got conned bigtime.someone who lives near there should stop by and inquire about the car.ask him how long hes had it and where he got it.if we can get the word out that the car is stolen,it'll make it hard for him to sell.this whole thing turns my stomach.

There has to be something that can be done. There is NO WAY IN HELL I would walk away from a '70 Hemi Charger that I've owned for 35+ years and let some scumbag keep it.....no frickin' way.

It's to late to handel this the old fashion way, everyone knows about it. If I was this guy I would make sure everyone knows this story. Someone that has the money for a car like this will not want the tag that comes with it. Follow the car and let everyone know the bullshit that goes with the sale. I would make the car famous for being stolen. I only say this because if I did not have the money to fix the problem legaly, this would be my course of action. That being said, WTF WAS HE THINKING IN THE FIRST PLACE!

My imagination says there could have been a deal under the table to obtain clear title through the body shop because it wasn't obtainable otherwise.

Just a thought.
