to shorten a long story here goes, i went to a town a hour away today looking for something for my son and ended up finding a guy who had some parts off a 69 he used to have, we went to his brothers barn and he digs a 69 grille out complete latch tray, headlights, trim etc. he prices it and i load it up, i follow him back to his house and he says he has a set of big block headers as we are looking for the gauge cluster he has put up somewhere so i buy the headers never found the cluster but says he will call me as soon as he finds it.  now my question is what is a 69 grille worth in this condition  it has a few hairline cracks and the I is bent, i have no clue what the headers fit or what brand they are?

I would think you could easily get $1,000 for that grille because it's complete and can be restored in show condition very easily.

I didnt figure its worth that much, i got to keep as a spare for my car never know when a a bird or deer is gonna commit suicide. thought i might redo it in my spare time and box it up and put it on a shelf. still curious on the headers though??????????

I think a grand is to high for the grille in today's market. On top of it needs repair and trim replacement. 600.00 ish tops for me. You never know on eBay?  Prices go up and down.

Can't ID the headers, but they're not equal length tubes so not preferred...however, that flange should seal!

Those are Hedman Hedders -   78036  ---  looks like yours have had the flanges split - or maybe thats how they did them 'back then' ?

They list the application for: B-bodies

The grille could probably sell for ~$800.00 as is

I guess I've been out of it for a few months.  I sold two grilles since May '10 in the $700 range that was just the 3 plastic parts without trim.  They were painted and all cracks (like this example) fixed.  I would have thought with the inclusion of the front brace which goes for close to $300 repro'd, nice trim, and the latch etc, you could do better.  Haven't seen many on Ebay lately.

The way things are going (Chinese manufactuers looking to keep workers busy with items that are guarenteed to sell at high profit), I'd sell it.  It won't be long until they start repro'ing the grill due to the $$$ they could get for it.  Since I started my project they started making a ton of new stuff (taillight lenses, dash pads, hood hinges, and the list goes on and on) and the resale prices on those old items is through the floor.  Just check out taillight lenses for a 69.  A year ago a nice set could get you a few hundred bucks but now that the repro's are out you can pick up a decent set (driver quality) for $75 to $100 on ebay.

I'm sticking with the $1000 for the grille. Cracks easy to repair, trim easy to restore-no need to buy new, and its all there. If I had some extra cash I'd make an offer justto have a pristine spare grille.  :Twocents:
